Ok so I just moved to Kingston and I'll be here for the next year or so. Great city so far, I fucking love it. No more fucking crappy quebec roads for me. I was wondering if any of you guys knew a good VW or just a good reliable honest mechanic around here? I don't really mind driving out if need be.

I just would like to have a check engein checked out. It's one of my O2 sensors that's screwed up (I think...).

There used to be a German mechanic by the name of Rolf in a little town called Lansdowne. It is about 30 minutes east of Kingston, just off of hwy 2. Rumour was he is virtually the best in eastern canada. The few times i've met him, he was a little......weird!!! Check the phonebook, maybe you might be able to find him.

If you don't mind the drive to Belleville (about an hour west of you), there's a shop called Competition Motors on Hwy. 62

He's good, and pretty reasonable.

Right in Kingston there's Performance Imports, but I'd go to Competition first.

How'd you make out?

I just ordered a Mac Tools scanner/Data Display/DTC reset tool so I'll finally be able to see what's triggering my Beetle's check engine light.

I didn't have time to take care of it yet. I need my car during the week and everything is closed on the weekend. I just want to check what the damn code is really.

Thanks for the spots Bandi.

Hahaha... yeah, dude at the VW dealership told me it's my Bug telling me it loves me.

At least they've got a sense of humour about it!

Some Fords have that light up "screwed" symbol too. I think it's basically a separate check engine light for the EVAP system, but I definitely got a good laugh the first time I saw it on a Taurus.

The first time I saw that...I thought it was photoshopped...please...someone tell me it is, please? Otherwise, german engineers are cruel...very very cruel.

The light has been on for a while now so I think it can wait. I would really REALLY appreciate if you don't mind reading the code. I don't mind paying you or bringing a case of beer ;)
