they're funny when you're drunk with your friends but they serve no artistic purpose especially when mounted on a tripod in dark places like most abandonments.

please stop.

if you use polaroid backs then this doesn't include you as it serves a purpose.

I think they're fun when you've done a place a few times before, but I would never pay for the film or shoot it in a place I'll never visit again. Thats just silly.

Touche.
I have never seen that set.

My buddy shoots all polaroids, He made his own actually out of an older body. He took like 4 cameras and made a beast. It's actually pretty cool.

Yeah, hurry up with that.

Polaroids are just the latest UE photo fad. It'll die out soon (I hope)

don't be a dipshit. it has its own particular quality about it and if someone is trying to achieve that look, best to them. Its like saying a daguerreotype is invalid because there are more efficient processes, never mind the fact that the overall effect cannot be substituted through traditional negative darkroom processes. The medium is the message, get over it.

Last I checked, there were about 4-5 people at any given point on the Photo forum about a month ago posting expired shit film/polaroid/holgaroid/pin-hole camera/e-z bake-oven-made-camera photos of haphazardly cropped unidentifiable objects. It seems some went the extra length to then dip their photos in acid and piss on them.

Never too far behind in the new trends of UE photography, I decided to jump on the bandwagon myself.

I'm on it.

If they made it so I could easily attach a Polaroid Pogo to my Canon 40D. I would use it. I think. As long as I could retain the raw file.

I am a typical Polaroid user. Most of my pictures are of drunken adventures and schlong. Even more typical would be the fact that I stopped taking Polaroids a decade ago.

I am guilty of posting bad Polaroids recently. That was because all of the pictures that were coming up on here made me grab my old camera to check if there was film in it, which there was, so I took some shots. They came out horrible and I didn't really try hard. Still, I like this one

But I like it because it reminds me how system29 texts his life away and how EvilNick can get super obsessed over the tiniest thing.

If Guac and Polaroid want to go crazy with their shots, even if only to piss off Jeff, I say "piss off Jeff," but I am not really into it.

see i don't mind things like that, i have lots of fun polaroids and me and my friends

what i don't get is why shoot a polaroid off a tripod while trying to document a building. you gain nothing by doing this except out of focus under exposed horrid photos 99% of the time

same reason you like medium format, personal taste? i dunno. its like the complete opposite of the way photography is moving these days, its unpredictable, soft focus, etc etc.

teehee.

*note* i did not shoot this, so hopefully i dont lose cool points bc i used a polaroid or something. jk

The reason I see polaroids as pointless from a strictly documentary standpoint is there is no archival value. You take the polaroid and there it is, thats what you get. You can't really make prints from it, and if you try well best of luck to you. Its a novelty and I feel like its effects are over used and often an excuse to seem "artsy" If you want a novelty and you really want to be "artsy" lets start seeing some polaroid transfers up in this piece. This is something I credits the term "artsy" As for snap shot polaroids, I view them like snapshots from any other camera, boring. My two cents. If you don't like it oh well.
