I'm sure you've all heard of the town Patchogue by now. If not, Then Back in November, 7 teenagers(I know some of them) Decided to go on a little game called "Beaner Beating" And they found an immigrant, Beat him up, End result is they killed the guy. one of them stabbed him.

They were caught, Arrrsted and all that, I'm glad they got caught, Good for them,They get what they deserve.

But it's been a month now, News12 is STILL talking about the incident and as of today, The town of Patchogue now has "Guardian Angels" walking around it's streets at night.

They are these guys in bright red jackets and berets, C'mon! Seriously?

It's ridiculous and completely unnecessary.

The illegal immigrants in that town(the number is greater then there are legal people) are supposebly "Beat on" every day and don't report it in fear of being deported...

Well, Maybe if they were legal in the first place, They wouldnt have that issue..

No, I am not racists, Just sick of hearing about the damn sotry.

On top of that, Just two days ago a classmate of mine, A friend. Died in a car accident. But that's not important..

Some old guys in bright red jackets is WAY more important.

Fuck this island.

Before I rant, I'd like to say that I'm sorry to hear your friend died. Here, the grotesque tastes of our news-people always takes driver's seat, and that stuff is at the top of the reporting list. Stuff like Guardian Angels stays in the news for about one day and then makes way for the next horrible image.

I remember the first time I ever saw/heard of Guardian Angels.
Davenport has this multi-million dollar skybridge to nowhere, which has pretty colored lights that show in different patterns. It is a neat way to waste our tax dollars, I KNOW.

Anyway, I was on a date and we got bored with the bar, so we decided to go to the skybridge. We get down there, press "S" on the elevator to get up there (there ARE no other buttons, besides "G" for "ground"), get to the top, and the door opens.

I take about two steps out of the elevator, and there are like 15 people standing around quietly, right outside the elevator door, with their chests puffed up like cops, staring at me.

I got wide-eyed and fearful (we have HORRIBLE gang problems in Davenport) and seriously took two steps backwards into the elevator, before my date kind of led me back out of the elevator and explained who the fuck these asshole lunatics in red berets were.

Citizen patrols. They don't do jack shit.

I agree that guardian angels are a bit ridiculous though, especially how they appear out of nowhere. Are the composed of local people, or do they come in from somewhere else to save the day?

Wait, so you didn't get jumped, despite the horrible gang problem, and its because these people didn't do anything? It sounds more like you could go there because they were there... despite a few moments of being unnerved, sounds like the night went well?
