After barfing so much I lost 50lbs while pregnant, having a baby that almost died at birth and was in the NICU for weeks, discovering two months after having her my c-section turned into an abdominal wall infection, my second back surgey, my house almost exploding because of a shitty oven...

My husband came home to tell us that he no longer has a job.

FUCK YOU 2008!

I seriously am in dire need of drugs, mental help and a gun that will zap my brain and let me forget all the bad stuff that happened this year.

And two weeks before Christmas.

Did I mention that today is the anniversary of the day my husband's dad shot himself in the heart too?

Yeah. Fuck us all.

i don't know what to say, D. I'm sorry and hope everything gets better just seems awful shallow. I've been there... 2005 was the shittiest year ever. It's a cloud, it's just out there floating around looking for a place to happen, someone just bopping along with their life and BLAM! it lands on you!

keep your chin up and just keep on with it. that's all you can do.

Scott

I'm hoping that when my baby is in school someday - and she has to write a paper about the "World Recession" my contributing story will earn her an A+.

On a sidenote - I believe in (at least) trying to seek out the bright side of things. So when "daddy" came home tonight - I scooped up my 10-month-old and the cat - and as my husband came in the door I sang "Take This Job And Shove It."

Then we toasted, with two beer bottles and one sippy cup, to a new chapter in our lives.

And Lexi - Thank you for the meowface. I love me a fluffy cat of happiness.

Back in 2005, I got let go from a job I really liked. Just summarily fuck you'd by a boss that had a vendetta (I later got payback on his punk ass)... so there i was... i went from job to job to job and ended up where I am and sort of successful. You never know, this might be a good thing for your significant other...

gah.. Shael has infected me with this disgusting positivity...

yeah, it's one of those years. I could go on to list the problems, but I don't feel like it. Just know that I understand and I hope that things improve for you. If you need to talk or whatever, you know where to find me <3

EDIT: I almost forgot to add that I have wine. Wine helps. If you are ever in toronto, come over for a drink.

Dump her. There's no room for positivity so long as George W. Bush remains alive.

Diva...Holy Leaping Christ. That's some hard news. Let me pour you a stiff drink, and I'll give you one of my magic cigarettes (it's okay...it's perfectly legal, trust me).

However...I'm sure there's a GOOD in all this. Tell me about your baby.

I prescribe a smile, it will make you feel a little better

My daughter was born on February 28. She had developed a virus while in utero that attacked her lungs and heart...

For whatever reason - we were never even supposed to have her. I had miscarriages and didn't know why. I was told that I couldn't get pregnant and keep a baby on my own. One week before my first fertility appt, I found out I was pregnant. So many scares we had through those months. But, even though she faced death at birth, I knew she'd make it. Sadie had fought to live since day one.

Surprisingly she did extremely well her weeks in the hospital. So well, that the only side-effect of it all is some hearing loss and a weakened immune system. So many other babies have brain damage, neurological issues - but not Sadie.

No matter how craptastic things go - I have her. She doesn't give a shit if we have no money, if all her clothes are from thrift stores and garage sales...She's loved more than anything.

Great, now I'm all emotional. THANKS UER!

And also is the most *perfect* baby I have ever seen. She's so beautiful. She's better than those commercials that sing Silent Night (I don't know what they're about though) with all the sleeping babies. Those commercials make me really emotional and happy...

Yer baby is like 10 times better than those other babies. Your baby makes my face leak. <3
