A friend is a operations manager for a local security service. He about a few months ago picked up an ex-Washington State Patrol 2005 Crown Victoria Police Intercepter for their new patrol car.

Over the weekend, one of his officers thought it was a bright idea to drive it through 2 FEET OF WATER and therefore HYDROLOCKING it. He took it into a local Ford Dealer (one I know that gets lots of CVPIs anyways) to attempt to get it repaired. Bad news is that that two engine rods are broken.

Yeah...poor CVPI.

a friend of mine had this happen to an 89 Ranger 4x4 2.9L V6. He got out into some water and before he could stop, he sucked the engine a big drink. Luckily, he shut the engine down before the connecting rods broke, HOWEVER, he bent all 6 rods in perfect semi-circles.

Oh jeez. I would love to see a photo of that.

Well, his boss (the company owner) is going to attempt to replace the entire engine via one of his friends who is a mechanic. My friend Stirling is just worried that the engine itself won't be from another CVPI but rather the regular CV so it won't have the same exact power.

The car was well taken care of and actually...just a tad makes me want to own the exact same car ha. Though since it was a 2005 model it was before Ford decided to turn its back on the police crowd...

I've recently become the guy that services all the local interceptors for the police station, and most of you know I'm not too big into domestic cars.

Having said that... I WANT A CVPI... what a sweet fucking car!

When does a GM Dealer service Fords? Unless you mean the 9C1 Impala

The Caprice is a pretty sweet car; it does beat the CVPI and the current 9C1 Impala.

However, there is something about the giant boatness that is the CVPI. Granted the gas tank can explode if you hit among other things but roughly the 2001 to 2005 year is the sweet spot.

Only issue with that is I haven't seen one in these parts in ages... although then I'd probably just get an Impala SS...

the state popo here are running mostly Tahoes now. Essex County sheriffs mostly run Impalas and Chargers and then odd old Intrepid.
