This is something that I came up with a while back. Not sure how many times it has been done, but I really love this old barn and really wanted to do this. So, I made a dress, stuffed my friend into it, used a studio dropcloth as a stage curtain, and strung her up as a marionette.
It turned out rather bizarre and creepy as the marionette who got away, but I think it's missing something in post-processing. BTW it's all film, and some photoshop manipulation.
I've omitted a few from the storyline, but hope it still makes some sort of sense. It would have been a long post!

Not much to say here. Interesting idea, but I find the blown-out highlights in most of these to be pretty distracting. The first one doesn't really fit in well with the rest of the set. Ditto for #11, mostly because she's taking a drag off that cigarette.

Yeah..I wanted to try a different style than I normally shoot, just to mix things up a bit. But I do agree with you on those two. The cigarette was her idea, I went along with it, and the first one, well, I don't know for sure. I like to experiment with different styles, but I hope I didn't completely miss this mark on this one

Really like the concept, but I feel like something is missing, but I'm not sure what... 2 & 3 are my favorites!

I should have commented sooner. Your idea here is brilliant, I'm assuming it was your idea. It's also well done from a photo essay or story POV.

Photo essays were the backbone of LIFE Magazine and others for decades. Then hand held video happened. It has it's place, and I won't get nasty on what's happened, (how sad, lame and easy it's become, Jennie Beker pls die) Okay that was nasty, but really... A clean creative sensual photo essay like you have produced is beautiful.

Sure some shots could be tweaked a bit, composition, blah blah, that's minor. Your set is all win, congratulations.

Concept/idea is great and original, or a well done redux if not totally original.
Copying sucks, but being inspired, and influenced is a valid way of personalizing something that has been done or already exists.

Photography and location is very good.
Model suits the role very well, great casting.

Wow, thank you!
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I've been off the forums for a bit.
yes, it was a my original idea; I really like to try an bring rural-ex into odd people shoots. She is by far my favorite model. She isn't creeped out by my exploration side.
I did have quite the "Deliverance" moment with the owner of the barn (he was out feeding his horses when I drove up, so I got to ask for his permission). He was an odd not-all-there character who seemed somewhat turned on by the idea of "stringin' 'er up in mah barn"..HAH
Nonetheless, I need to get back out and come up with more shoots like this one. Thanks for the compliments!

Thank you...yeah, I had this planned for a bit, made the dress, procured the "curtains" from the studio, and even got another friend to help keep the strings taught..but I really should have thought about the end story/collating it together a bit more. I really needed some sort of evil-captor character for emphasis and cohesion. There's always next time, right?
