Not quite what I seen. On the OPP cruiser I seen it on, it looked like a pair of novelty sized small black hockey sticks. I only seen the view from the back and at the side of the cruiser. No idea what the front of the "hockey sticks" look like.

Its possible that the ones I seen were the same things as in the picture, but they might have been attached to some sort of mount moving them more to the side of the vehicle for a better view? It would explain why they looked like a pair of hockey sticks from the angle I seen it.

Yes, the "hockey sticks" are so the devices can be angled in such a way that they read the license plates of parked cars. Toronto Police has a couple of units dedicated solely for this purpose; driving around and scanning parking lots for stolen vehicles.

I always got a kick out of the fact the Jeep Cherokee with the Police package can do 0-60 about 1 second faster than a CVPI.

It can't be. If it was, that would imply someone in maritime command managed to take something rotting away in dry dock, put some kind of weapon on it, and have it float.

your over-estimating them.

Saw one of these as a RCMP cruiser for the first time last weekend.

Military Police have had them for at least a year now. You don't see any of their Crown Vics around the city anymore.

This is at a 7/11 across from an enormous abandoned hospital. The 2 UC from the car were wearing identical polo style grey shirt in which you could clearly
make out the stitching of a badge insignia turned backwards. When the shit happens I guess they simple reverse the shirts.

Went to school in Ithaca. This was a real cop. I called them the fun police. This must be an older picture because since then they have added stickers all over it.
