Interesting concept, born old and getting younger as you grow up. For the most part they pulled that part off pretty good. The film runs rather long, but is enjoyable on a number of levels, and there is a nice running gag about "lightning" and the "captain" is a pretty cool character. It's a much, much better film that some recent "Best Picture" winners, though I get the feeling this is not the kind of film, nor people involved, that have much Oscar clout.

It is a rip off of Forrest Gump, written by the guy who wrote Forrest Gump even!

Yeah...because he couldn't make any money with the second Forrest Gump book. I read it, it was no where near as good as the first. In fact, it was downright awful.

I've seen both - Forrest Gump is far superior to Button.

Forrest Gump is a classic. I had the opportunity to see Benjamin Button with zero preconceptions about it, was either that or a romantic comedy, and it turned out pretty good. Was delighted in fact. It's a strange film, not a masterwork by any means, but it has no real weaknesses besides the length. I don't think it has won any awards as I type this, but, like I said above, a lot of unworthies get to take home gold in Hollywood's biggest trade show.

Seen Forrest Gump...own it somewhere on a videotape I bought years ago...as far as this movie...skipped it, planning on skipping it once it comes to video.

was it only because Forest was half retarded? I feel that is kind of a trump card for those who say Forest Gump is better. Obviously, is is easier to have more sympathy for a mentally challenged person than someone who ages in reverse because only one kind is real.

Personally, I feel that David Fincher is far superior to Robert Zemeckis even down to Curious Case and Forest Gump. I don't think Curious Case is his best film, but I thought it was solid and very enjoyable. But hey, everyone has their opinion.

Actually it's a rip off of the last season of "Mork and Mindy".
