what happened to the bucket now?

I was driving it to work the other day, Push the gas pedal, Barely moved for a minute then went. Stopped at the light, Car was shaking like it was about to stall and the check engine light started flashing. Wonderful.

I knew I needed oil, But I had just put it in two days before.
Popped the hood that night, Turns out my oil cap had popped off and shot oil all over the engine. Not a major issue, Just an annoyance.

I discovered a hub cap popped off as well at some point, Probably in Philly. Or the lincoln tunnel.

I STILL need a catalytic Converter and o2 sensor. I wanna get rid of the bucket because every part for this car is THREE TIMES EXPENSIVE as it would be for any car.

$40 for an o2 sensor on my friends 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
$127 for one for my car(According to family auto) I can get em for about $91.

Cylinder 2 is misfiring. So I'm sure thats gunna be a couple of hundred to get that fixed as well.

Plus, Selling the thing is going to be a bitch considering I have NO CLUE how many miles are on the car. My odmeter says 141,506. Or something like that. I know for fact that there are less.

When we put this engine in(Second day I had the car ON THE ROAD) the guy told us it was a used motor, With Less miles. Douche neglected to tell us how many were on it.

the kid obviously has his mind made up about owning an import. At least he has chosen a Subaru or BMW... these cars are very well built (his Impreza excluded) and should serve him well PROVIDED he looks them over well. I think he should have a tame mechanic look at the cars he's interested in. The last car he bought is a cursed piece of shit.
And, i was thinking about a used 05 or 07 Cobalt coupe. Or, perhaps, a used Ford Mustang.

but oh noes... we can't even imagine driving a domestic can we.

I'm happy with my 05 Legacy ... so far. My biggest complaint is the stock CD player sucks and is wired into the climate control system or something along those lines. Making replacing it difficult.

Having driven both an 03 Legacy and my 05 Legacy; the older models a lot more uncomfortable and the wood trim made me feel like this is a car my grandfather would drive. (Which he wouldn't.) The 07 is the first year of the fourth gen to have gotten things right.

But two of my friends drive Outbacks and love them. These are the kids who are completely out of control too. Both drive >100MPH on a regular basis. Both have "Buried the Needle" on their cars. My car has hit 92MPH once. And that's only because I wasn't paying attention on an empty highway with a HUGE downhill. My top speed is around 80 on the highway, when I'm in a hurry. Cruise is set at 69MPH normally.

I wouldn't buy and Audi A4. I've meet quite a few people who are unhappy with them

I don't know what you are even looking for in a vehicle so I really couldn't begin to offer more than my personal experiences.

Do you need something that will last at least 5 years or something for point A to point B?

That 318is is overpriced, and that 540i Sport will outlast and out perform all other vehicles mentioned...

I like the way my car drives to be honest(As shit as it is) It rides smooth. It's comfortable. Plus, I like the All wheel drive. It's reasonable on gas.

Why cant you just get a fucking Chevy Nova or a fox body Mustang and be done with it. Easy as hell to fix and even liquor stores have parts for them.

What's your price limit?

$3000-$7000

Nothing new and fancy.
Something to last a few years.

Or go to a dealer. See what they can hook you up with.

Craigslist is too shady for my liking, the only inquiry I made wanted to do the deal over ebay even though she claimed to be local.
