Hyundai startesd by buying body dies and engines from Mitusbishi... Mush the same way that AMC bought engines from GM, transmissions from Chrysler, ignition parts from Ford, etc...
they were a mishmash of parts.

The 3.8 was created by GM/Buick but when they couldn't get it to balance correctly, among other things, they sold it off to AMC, it was used in Jeeps and other vehicles, then sold back to GM around 1975...GM then changed the firing order or something and made some other changes, and introduced them in cars like Buick Regals, etc. I'm pretty sure you could even get a full size 1976 LeSabre with the 3.8, kind of a huge car to move around with a 6 in it.

Yeah, it's not like they're JUST a car company, either... they make industrial equipment, ships, electronics, robots, computers, heavy machinery, etc, etc, etc.

And they build a damn good car.

Nobody has forgotten. Its just that people with a mild understanding of engineering and an open unbiased mind know that things progress.

The 3.8 has historically been better than Toyota V6 motors! Although I think for a while there was some shitty plastic intake issue or something like that, I forget what it was, it was on the later 90s cars, samurai probably knows.
