I actually sat down at the dealership my brother works at and talked with one of the sales guys. The most he can give me for my SS is $10,500... i laughed. Then they would turn around and retail it for $15k because of the way it looks and the condition that it's in... sorry. maybe in 3 years when I have the car paid off, I'll be in to see you about a Camaro.

here's how he explained it to me. Dealers make dick on new cars. On a new $23k Camaro, he'd make maybe $900. Now, if he sold my Cobalt SS, he'd clear at least $13k on the car, hence, that's why they [dealers] give you dick on trade in.

i'm in no hurry to get rid of my Cobalt, thank you very much. It's just that the Camaro is uber sexy and I likey.

Yes, my Rebadged Isuzu Rodeo I bought it from my father for that price.

Just for sport, I ran your Cobalt through the Kelley Blue Book for trade in and it comes up with....$10,900.

This afternoon, I actually went to drop off a friend at a local GM dealer to pickup his new ride actually (he got a Malibu). I ended up looking at a 2009 Impala for shits and giggles and I told your story to the sales guy I was with Samarui and he started laughing.

He first of all, said the dealer makes MUCH more than $900 on a brand new car such as a Camero; he wouldn't say how much, but said it sounds like that dealer rather sell used cars instead of new cars. Second, he said he would of offered $14,000 on a pristine Cobalt.

I have a 09 Cobalt SS with like 7000km and they won't even give me $14k for it. lolz If you have like a 05, expect like $1400

my Cobalt is pristine, tastefully accentuated, but has 59,000 miles. It is a 2007 model. High book according to NADA is $9800, KBB is 10,400

For $14,000, i'd drive to Oregon and trade it for a Camaro.
Skelly, there is no 'e' in Camaro.
