can you imagine?
my friend took an LS1 out of a wrecked 99 Z28 SS, with a 6 speed sourced from a Firebird and stuffed it in an 86 Mustang SVO chassis... it's violent. I mean, the car is fucking violent. It accelerates violent, decelerates violent... i reminds me of a bareknuckle fighter looking to kick someones ass. It's a violent mechanical psychopath and wonderful work of art.

the LS1 series is a worthy successor to the 350 et al
how heavy is an E36?

At 410 pounds and 140 horsepower, that thing is a monster!!!!

My Speed triple is 430 pounds and 108 horsepower and it feels like it is trying to rip itself out from under me under hard acceleration.

I can ride mine for 1.5 hours if I have to, then I've gotta stop cause my ass is killin' me.

With your single plank seat, and lower bars, how long can you stand it?

I know a guy who has a cammed LS1 swapped into his E36 with a full interior and the car weighs ~2900 lbs. It's an absolute beast.

that's the way Rays' Mustang is... it's just, well, violent. For a naturally aspirated V8, it feels like it swallowed a turbo and is having indigestion. The power comes on BAM! all at once and you're going 0-100 like a fucking freight train off a cliff. 100-140 is a blur... at 150+ you're wondering if the car isn't going to take flight.
...and this fool wants to twin turbo it?

Sounds fun!

Edit: I'm thinking of finding some way to put a twin turbo on the 2.4 I4 Stratus engine. Just for shits and giggles. Gonna wait until I can afford a new car before I blow (up?) the Stratus.

Because saying "Twin Turbo" sounds awesome.

Although I'm sure it has something to do with efficiency... if you want to get technical.

you have to admit, seeing *another* Mustang is screaming fucking yellow and beginning to yawn only to notice that there is a GM V8 under the hood with two HUGE turbos hanging off either side of it... that's a bit intimidating, methinks.

Now, Zeppelin, I thought that the 2.4L I4 in the Stratus was just a bored or stroked version of the 2.0L that was in the Neon... Or wasn't it based on the engine that was in the Galant? I'm pretty sure that the 2.4L is a Mitsusushi design.
there has to be a way to shoehorn a turbo on to that engine
or better yet... find a blown up Neon and stuff the larger engine (+turbo) into that chassis.

Yes on both counts... which is the unfortunate part. I feel like I've seen a single turbo kit that fits in behind the exhaust manifold, but I could be wrong. That's about the only place you can put a turbo, and you would have to take out the AC system, especially the condenser. AC gets in the way on the one side and the battery compartment, which is partially integrated into the driver's side wheel well, is on the other.

Edit: I just think it would be a fun way to put the car out to pasture. Sure beats driving it off a cliff with a cinder block on the gas pedal.

the Breeze-Stratus-Cirrus cars were really hit or miss... (i think i've said that before). If you got one to turn some obscene miles, you got a good one.

that's pretty damn good for a Stratus.
there is one for sale at the body shop that does my work... it's a fucking beater not fit for a demolition derby and the asshat that actually owns the car wants $1000 for it.

First vid is meh.

As for the second vid, ew. The wing on that e46 is atrocious.

But vorshlag motor sports makes a kit where you can swap an LS1 with a T567 into an E36.

Here's their car.

You can also get kits to swap one into a miata which is what I want to do eventually.

remember the Monster Miata kit? I think it was stuffing a fuelie 5.0L or 5.8L Ford into a Miata... granted, it lost that balance, but fuck... it accelerated like a jet fighter!

Well hopefully you need to stop for gas at some point in that 4 or 5 hours. That should give you at least 3 or 4 minutes of break. I gotta stop for 10 minutes or so at a minimum, but my bones are older than yours!
