Just replaced all the pads and shoes on out Saturn Vue along with all the springs for the drums.

Have to say all together the entire process went rather smooth. Aside from the parking brake cable/spring. I know there is an easy way to do it, but I didn't feel like playing with the cable inside. If there is an even easier way to get the parking brake back on I'd like some ideas for next time.

After pics as soon as I install my phone to my pc.

Very similar set-up on the rear of my truck. Also had a hell of a time getting the parking brake back together. I need to pull it back apart because for some reason the spring didn't straighten out on the passenger side and there is slack in the parking brake now. Fucking A

did you change the seals on the wheel cylinder or wheel cylinder itself? Sometimes, it's a good idea to do that while you have the drum apart.

I've figure out that the scraping sound that I thought was the brakes wasn't and I now think it's the bearings. They're really expensive, so I'm resorting to ebay for them.

bearings typically won't make a scraping sound. When they begin to fail they will make a constant howling sound.

If you hear scraping noises while driving it may be as simple as a backing plate that has been slightly bent

And hone that sucker out too if you can.

It's not the backing plate, everything clears.

And the sound only starts when I get a little speed and there's weight on it.

As bearings fail on the front there definiatly is a honing sound, had lots of those go that way, but as they completly fail they start to scrape.
