So I was driving last week. I put air in my tires. Everything was good.
I'm driving and all of a sudden. My right front tire starts to shake and wobble, Or so it feels like atleast.

Could this be a broken tire rod?

Probably not a broken tie rod, could be worn idler arm bushings, draglink, unbalanced tire w/ poor shocks. Best bet is to jack it up and have a look, lift up both front tires off the ground, then shake or jiggle each one, there should be no sloppiness, and they both should do the exact same thing as you steer them back and forth from outside the car.

That's the extent of my knowledge, see Sam, Bandi, Tracker, Alein, Bustedknuckle, Nismo.

They'll be able to help.

I had a similar problem, ended up bieng loose bolts on the wheel, but could be a table bushing, jack the car up, put your hands on the tire at the 3 and 9 and move it around with your hands, see if you can follow the problem by that.

If it's wobbling as bad as you say, it should be fairly easy to spot. As suggested, jack it up and look at the few components that connect either the front suspension and/or the drive axles (if it's FWD) to the tire/wheel. Something is likely broken. Tie rod, ball joint or possibly a completely failed wheel bearing.

rule of thumb is to check the lugnuts first. If you jack the car up and they are loose, well, duh. Now if the nuts are tight (ah hah!), take a grip at the 3 and 9 oclock positions on the tire and see if you can wiggle the thing back and forth. There will be *some* play, but not a significant amount. If there is a pretty good amount of play your looking at either a wheel bearing, tie rod or tie rod end. Usually, the end wears before the rod. On some cars, like 2nd Gen Cavaliers, the tie rods are non wear items. Now, we get past that, take a grip at the 12 and 6 oclock position and give a wiggle... significant play almost always mean ball joint.

how much of a shake and wobble are we talking about
does it shake the entire car
does it shake just at the steering wheel
at any particular speed does it come and go

Yup

*edit
More times than not though Ive seen a car come in with the symptoms you spoke of and it be nothing more than a tire out of balance.

oh god... try having 18" wheels that take the stick on weights... the tire changing weiner heads don't realize they have to CLEAN the inside of the wheel first... goddamn it.

My CJ Boot is apparently "torn up and leaking grease everywhere" and the dealership wanted to charge me $255. And I "needed" a new AC Belt; but my alternator belt was fine. Even the repair manual says you replace both belts at once. They wanted $70 to replace one belt.

Lucky I'm not gullible. I told them I'd hold off on both repairs. My dad and I changed the belts; 18 bucks a belt.

The axle boot? It's not even damaged and it's leaking a tiny amount right at the end. We checked around; it's a $150-200 job, MAX. The other Subaru dealership said $210.

Caligula, I'd check the Axel Boots too.

when a CV shaft is gone bad enough to where it's shaking, you'll hear it clicking/knocking under low speed, tight turns.

you can extend the life of an axle boot... a little duct tape, a little silicone...

Since you said that the wheel 'all of a sudden' began to shake, i would be more inclined to focus on the wheel(s) itself. Worn suspension parts tend to take time and the driver becomes accustomed to the shake. (for the most part) I would check the lug nut torque (as suggested) then check for broken belts (in the tires), and wheel balance. See if you can spot where a wheel weight could of possibly of been and has come off. With wheel balance issues, you can usually drive out of the shake...meaning at some point (speed) the shake appears to diminish. Ball joints generally don't cause a shake, more of a clunk over bumps, or changing directions. Tie rods can cause a shake, but harder to notice. Worn wheel bearings will give an audible indication that they are failing...especially if they are that bad that they are causing a shake...they will howl at speed. This is assuming that your car is front wheel drive....

I'm dyin' to hear whats wrong with this car, after re-reading your post, and all the others, I had forgot you said the trouble started right after you had put air in the tire. It could just be an air bubble or broken belt or tread separation, as Chromehorse indicated, tires are cheap! I hope thats all it is.

if she's driving it and the wheels haven't fallen off of it, or the suspension fallen out from under it... well

Alright, So I took the tire off yesterday. Got the tie rod off. Have the part. Couldnt get the outer tie rod disconnected from the inner tie rod(If that makes sense?)

BUT, We had come to the conclusion that it may not even be the tie rod, The bolt that moves, Connected to the tire wasnt that loose. Were gunna replace it anyway and see if it makes a difference.

You might want to note where the two ends of the tie rod came together, probably a rust mark or a clean spot, cause thats your toe in and toe out adjustment, it sounds like the rod ends still attached to the car are still good, if they are not all wobbly and loose save the money, you'd need a ball joint fork to remove the ends still attached to the car!
