Well, these days I'm really into that 4Sevens Quark I have, mainly because it has such a low dim mode. The Quark doesn't come in an 18650 option directly, but there is a separate 18650 body tube available, which will work well with either the 1xCR123, 1xAA, or 2xAA models (just not the 2x123 model, really).

4Sevens just announced in the last few hours that the Quarks are now to ship with the new R5 emitter, and are clearing out the 'older' R2 models at a 15% discount. I wonder if the UER 10% discount will work on top of that?

Of course, there's still the dealextreme option if you're on a budget, but I have to say I'm well and truly tired of cheap lights that just stop working!

What sort of budget were you on again?

Around 40 for a light, and around 40 for a laser.

But like most, I am flexible to a point, but I do prefer spending less $$ if I can..

Just wondering was the switch broken on your Z2? If not what was broken? Did you try contacting Surefire so they could fix the issue for you?

Its the bulb filament that went after I dropped it one day.

Figured @ that price it would not hurt to buy a spare..

I never thought to contact surefire- do they actually cover bulb filaments under warranty?

Of course I will let you all know how all the stuff works when I get it..

Ahhh I see. Actually no they dont =( But having the LED module in place of the incandescent should keep that from happening again! If the DX drop-in doesnt work well you may want to check out the www.malkoffdevices.com they have some top notch made in the USA drop-ins for the C series Surefires (6P, G2, C2, M2, etc.)

Damn! Yeah, there's nothing more disappointing than finding out the thing you've been waiting for isn't going to arrive.

Well, I FINALLY GOT IT!!!

and..

I ARE IMPRESSED

both with the tailcap (10-100% variable dimmability, and the led replacement)

Just had to remove one of the two springs on the lighthead, and it fit right in, no problem. Nothing is loose in the flashlight, and.. ya..

impressed.
