Perhaps you were desperate and wanted to try something new. Maybe you had a vial of oil and absolutely no weed or maybe just a bit of weed and need some filler to make a full joint. Ever do it just to try and commune with your cat?
I fall into the vial of oil and no weed category.
How about you? Stories perhaps?

Tastes like shit, does nothing. Burns pretty bad going down. Wouldn't recommend it.

So, just out of curiosity, what circumstances drove you into smoking "the nip of the cat?"

It's horrible...especially when wrapped in newspaper or smoked through a soda can. Smells like burning oregano/garbage.

The one and only time I smoked catnip I believe was Sophomore year in high school, at a party, on a dare. I remember it burnt like hell, and that somebody else who tried it puked immediately thereafter.

What about just dipping a cigarette in the oil?

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke man so thats a no-go for me.
As it turns out it wasn't such a big deal. I used just enough nip to roll with and slathered that oil all over the paper. I got pretty high and didn't have any unpleasant after effects from the nip itself.
My cats addicted to the stuff so if he can take it so can I!

If I wasn't so impoverished I wouldn't have to stoop to this level...

Thats a good suggestion. I've never tried it before, but maybe I will next time. Hell, I tried catnip! What do I got to lose?

haha i totally have smoked catnip, to stretch the last little bit of weed further. the taste didn't bother me, and this way we had a full joint.

a good alternative to cigarettes or catnip is also fresh mint from the garden. dry it out a bit in the toaster oven, and you're good to go...it makes the joint a menthol! i've also been told that chamomile leaves work really well as an alternative, but i've never tried it.

they're delicious, but they'll be banned in the US starting 1 September. stock up now...

i used to have a little bag of ground clove to mix in my bowls. not too bad, but you have to go easy on them, too much will make you nauseous. now, i prefer pipe tobacco if i'm rolling spliffs.

Well I heard there was new tobacco restrictions. Something about flavored cigarettes or something. I'm a little hazy on it though since I don't smoke tobacco.

I googled it and came up with limited search results (at work at the moment so a lot is blocked) and apparently the "logic" is that flavored tobacco makes kids more likely to smoke. Since when do kids like clove though? And it's not like they're naming them Chipper Cherry or anything (that I know of). I think the obnoxiously colored advertisements and marijuana worshipping novelties at Spencer's Gifts would lead to more kids smoking.

I wonder if he thought clove cigarettes were considered a "flavored" cigarette. In my opinion it's not though, it's just a different type of plant. I'm not sure what the FDA's stance on it is though.

Exactly, it doesn't make sense. Tobacco has its own flavor, does it just not count? And what about menthol cigarettes?

i just wrote an article on this for the university paper.

yeah, the FDA thinks flavoured cigs are being aggressively marketed to kids, so they're banning them, including things like sweet dreams and cloves. Djarum, in the meantime, is already getting ready to put out clove cigarillos, since those aren't covered in the ban. Neither are chew, pipe tobacco, hookah shisha, or cigars.

interestingly enough, menthols are exempt, meaning that a cig cannot be marketed as 'mint', but is OK as a menthol. wtf?

there's a ton of loopholes in the law, my guess is it won't be long before it gets repealed. still, go buy your cloves now.

Really strong catnip tea will chill you out a bit. I smoked nutmeg in high school (don't ask). Bad idea. Also smoked cigarettes smeared with toothpaste, bad idea s well.
