I told him we were going the wrong way. Didn't matter I lived my entire life 3 minutes down the road. Oh no, surely I didn't know the fastest way. Oh wait we are going the total opposite direction! Oh wait I am still wrong! OH NO! Wait a human error in programming your GPS! OH I WAS RIGHT THANK YOU!

How about listening the person who LIVES here and KNOWS exactly the mileage/time to the destination and not the damn GPS.

God I hate people who believe GPS over people who are blatantly right. Very insulting....Still want a apology.

On our first roll engine we use GPS, but the ECC still sends us the Thomas guide page number.... and we have used it before.

the problem is there is always a human factor.

a decent GPS is typically not wrong, but someone has to enter information and interpret it and when someone stupid is using is they blame the technology.

paper maps have the same problem, if you're ridiculously stupid it won't get you anywhere and i feel its much easier to fuck up a paper map then a gps

I agree about GPS's being useless, but maybe you should complain to... him?

Just saying...

Oh I complained and was told that the GPS is ALWAYS the fastest and most correct route. He follows it blindly and puts all common sense aside.

I gotta say, one time I was following someone and when they took a turn that was different from what the gps recommended, another 15 minutes were suddenly added on to the trip.

My sister's GPS has an amusing speech impediment. It kept telling her to turn onto 'highway welve',instead of twelve.

QFT. Fucking voodoo machines. Back in the day, it was common sense, knowing where the moss grew on the tree stump and the position of the sun that got us there AND back.

Knowing how to use a paper map should be a required part of getting your license. Sort of like, knowing how to add before moving to the next grade, or learning where your state or province is on the map.

If you can't figure out how to get where you're going, then what's the point of using a car to get there?

Oh the stories I could tell of truckers buying cheap car oriented GPS and learning the hard way that it doesn't take bridge wt limits or overpass ht limits into account.

So,who programmed that GPS? Darwin?

I just love the line "THE MACHINE KNOWS!" and then they go into the lake!

I believe what the machine knows is that the driver is a naive idiot who will blindly follow all instructions!

Excuse me. I gotta go laugh now!

I've used a GPS for the last two years and absolutely love it... however I check my route ahead of time and verify that the GPS is going the right way. I tend to use it as a trip computer rather then for finding direction. I like the way it always knows where I am, determining arrival times, and searchs for gas, food, shopping, ect.

It is a toy, it isn't neccessary, it is a nice tool to have... but don't follow them blindly.

Also, since I travel into the US a few times a year, and the speedo on my car shows MPH in very small numbers, I like to use the GPS as a digital speedo set to MPH rather then trying to keep the speed between two dots on my speedo that are actually 20 mph apart.
