You seem to equate "quality" with "high prices" -- all of the brands you listed basically just resell the cheap Chinese flashlights with their brand stamp on it. AA or D batteries are a thing of the past, man. I've been using 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries in all my lights for years now and I'm never going back to crappy AAs or heavy Ds. -av

Hopefully people have a sense of humor and I don't get banned too. ;)
I just got a Terralux 300-M 3-emmiter upgrade for my 6-cell mag and I tought I would do a write up on it. I know most explorers think mags are a thing of the past but this thing is awesome for the type of stuff I do.
The good:
500 lumen
Regulated output (constant output even on regular alkaline batteries)
The super tough, hobo bashing, window smashing, waterproof body of a maglite.
Good price $61 before shipping which I know is a bit for some people but find me a light with that type of output in a body thats of comparable quality.
The bad:
No focus (but I'm very happy with the throw and spill)
Its big really big
No modes just on or off
Other thoughts:
If you are creeping around trying to be stealthy don't buy this thing. My friends and I refer to it as the daylight-stick. But if you go in drains, areas where stealth isn't a priority, or need something bright for light painting this thing is awesome.
I know some won't want this much light but in my defense I sometimes recover broke down vehicles on the roadside for my work and I do alot of night time raccoon hunting. This thing will light road signs and eyes or anything else that reflects for at least 1/2 a mile.
I wouldn't change a thing if I had it to do over.
Just my $.02
