Anyone still active on here? Know any good spots in Chattanooga?

It's highly doubtful that you will get any giveaways on places with a post count of 1. People on here need to know you first to know that you aren't going to trash whatever place that they give you.

^What he said.

But yes. There are good spots all over Chattanooga. A lot of them are pretty easy to find on your own if you drive around a bit. The spots that are mentioned earlier in this thread are extremely easy to spot.

Howdy Chattanoogans,

I'm fairly new to the area and new to the UER forums... I've found a few locations and are going to check them out this weekend. If anyone wants to join us, let us know.

Seeing that I'm new to the area, I'd love to meet up with some locales who know the area better. Plus, making new friends is always nice!

Haven't run in to this guy; however, last time I was there an alarm went off. It was set off in the main building (the one visible from the interstate that is huge and gutted.) So watch for motion detectors if you go inside that place. It's still very doable and definitely worth seeing. Just be careful.

I will say that the alarm went off for a good 5 minutes and nobody ever showed up or caught us before we got out.

I'm thinking its about time to call all the chattanooga locals to a bit of a meet&greet event. Not a Chattsplore, just a gathering of teh locals... its been a while and I haven't seen enough of your strange looking faces. Im heading to DC next week, but hows about I set something up for early February?

Anyone interested?
Anyone??

It could happen...

AFAIK, one of the buildings is still used for storage. And the whole facility is now owned by CSX. Be careful and good luck!

I'm down for a meetup. I'm sure there's a few other Chattanoogans or at least southeast TN folks who would like to check out some spots, and there's still plenty to see to fill at least a day or two. (Second MHE trip anyone??? I wanna see the areas that those dogs chased us off from. =P )

And yeah, as Crypton said, they are storing stuff in one of the structures. It's usually the first one I walk through. There's a couple forklifts and a lot of construction materials and such.

It's still much easier to access than we are making it sound. My advice would be to go for it before it's gone because they already demo'd a large portion of it that no one really got to explore. There's no telling when they might finish it off.

I take my hat off to you guys. You guys seem pretty kickass. It's not often someone can come into a forum and get PMs from four different people in my local area. I'm excited for an adventure and to meet you guys sometime soon.

I've been doing some research and been scouring for new sites. I know I told some of you, I'll be checking out two sites that I think are new near Lafayette, GA. Plus I think I'll poke my head in the old TAG tunnel while I'm there.

* * *

I found the place you guys refer to 'Pirate's Squat' via pictures last night. There aren't many bridges in Chatty, so when there's a bridge in a picture it's not too difficult to locate, hahaha... I went at about 3AM last night. I figured, no better night, seeing as how there were few clouds in the sky and the moon was bright - good for night vision (but also bad because I was easier to see).

I went through the woods, crossed the field, and shimmied around the gate. I couldn't get to the main building, though. The water level was so high and everything was wet and frozen over. The docks were slippery and the stone barrier going from the docks to the building were completely icy and unfriendly.

I felt like a stranger because I felt like I stole this from you guys by finding it in pictures and not from a friend, hahaha... So please forgive me! If anyone tries to go out there soon just be careful. I plan on going back today or tomorrow to see if there's an alternate entrance. If there was, I didn't see one.

Yep. "Pirate Squat" Has started sinking recently. The owner sits out there sometimes to watch for people going in, mostly because he doesn't want anyone getting hurt (hurt as in drowning. lol).

Most of the explorers in and just outside of Chattanooga are very friendly. Hence the four PMs from people wanting to show you around and such. It's not a very uptight community once we know you aren't going to be smashing and stealing everything. =)

I don't think I'm going to have sufficient gas to make it out that way today and still be able to get to the festicle in ATL tomorrow. But I think I will be free Tuesday if you're not working or anything. Perhaps MonkeyPunch or Chris-Kicker will be free then too, not sure.

Checked out a few more locations this weekend. It's going to be a few weeks before I can do any more outings (working on my master's degree). Maybe in a few weeks we can meet up...?

Hope you guys had fun in ATL!

My wife is going out of town in early February. I think that would be the best time for a get together. I know we want to do a meet-and-greet, but I'll be using that time to do some exploring, too!

Winter is the best time for some places, after all. Less foliage to fight against.

Went in February but didn't get to go with any of you chaps because I forgot to check the forum. Not this weekend, but the following is going to be another exploration day if anyone wants to go (I think that's the weekend... If it's not that one, it will be the next one)! I'm open either Saturday or Sunday if you guys want to go.

I have a few locations I want to check out, so let me know if you guys are interested.

Text me at 7012264906.
