I was recently given a big stack of Canadian magazines from the 50s-70s. I love the old ads in them.

I remember in elementary I use to browse through all the old national geographics from the 70s just to look at the car ads

i love the Hillman ads... no one gave a shit about economy in 1959... gas was five cents a gallon!

it often saddens me that there were never be an era like that of 1955 to 1973 for cars. I mean, cars today are great from a performance, comfort and efficiency standpoint, but they are sadly lacking in soul.

There was another site (Bills Retro World) someone on a Fiero forum showed me with TONS of 50s-era ads for everything from cars to turntables, but unfortunately it's gone offline.

Here's some 1984 Fiero ads I have scanned. I have another one to get to eventually.

i have to laugh at their "Logic Of Design" bullshit... the front end was out of a Chevette. The back end was swiped from a Citation/Celebrity... the engines were corporate workhorses available in just about everything. The seats were from a Fierbird and it had a teeny tiny ass gas tank.

But, it was kind of a neat car.

One of my favorite ads:

The last two are epic vintage win. I will be visiting my Corvair dealer tomorrow morning!

There's just something special about rear engine cars, they are designed for special people

Srysly, they rock.

Amen.

there are moments when I really think that Ralph Nader should've been killed with something heavy
there was nothing wrong with the Corvair. He was just a punk ass bitch trying to make a name. And then, GM and their wonderful handling of his so-called investigation.

Well, while I do agree with Ralph Nader with regards to his idea on auto safety, I think he used the Corvair as the worst example of a "bad car" There were way worse car models out there he could of used, but decided on that one since as I understand it was pretty easy to get copies of paperwork of notes on the design.

I fuckin' love my mid engined Corvair, it handles like a go kart, slides like a rally car, has more thrust than a muscle car, jumps like a gazelle, lands like a sack full of hammers!!!!

This thing scares the shit out of me even with out turning on the nitrous.
