Within the next week, probably. 1978-ish Jaguar XJ12, purchase price of $50.

It belongs to a friend's dad, he has a nice '78 XJ12 and this is his parts car. Its body is mostly intact and solid, just missing some stuff like the grille and headlight bezels. It's currently mostly complete but he's going to have me come over and help him take some parts off first that he wants to keep...No idea what all he's taking off but I've heard from his son he might take the engine, rear suspension, and windshield. But I figure whatever bit of Jaguar you can get for $50 is worth it...especially since they make swap kits to drop a 350 Chevy in.

Is this win? It's this body style, by the way:

There's not enough left / I don't have the funds necessary to restore it to stock, so I'll probably just make it a sort of rat rod. I'm going for the least sophisticated Jaguar in the world...Though I will leave the wood grain.

If it was in better condition, I'd agree with you. But the options at this point are pretty much 1) Get it running again, in whatever jury-rigged way possible while perhaps disgracing the noble Jaguar name or 2) take it to the junkyard and see it crushed.

I figure I may as well save it. It's not like I'm going to strip out perfectly good leather seats and throw on Mexican blankets or anything.
