I could go (and have gone) on about this for hours.

Most recent: When you're trying to sell something to a customer and another customer butts-in to the conversation and starts yapping about how they know everything about the product.

Ughh. So obnoxious. I had a customer do this a few weeks ago, but when she tried to get me to ring her up for something I told her to wait because I was still with the original customer. She then proceeded to complain to my manager that I was rude. He told her to leave.

Fucking retail.

Managers who can make your life miserable. When I got promoted, I got a different set of managers, who were, in a sense, "above" my original managers. So they'd been overseeing me all the time, just not directly.

So when I moved up, all the sudden my wardrobe was "inappropriate." I got yelled for having a "wrinkled" shirt...it was pleated. It was SUPPOSED to be wrinkled. Then I got a "talk" about a shirt that was too low-cut, even though I'd been wearing that shirt for TWO years, since I'd ORIGINALLY started working there. Did they say something before? Oh no, they had to wait two years, then write me up for it. And then they had to fucking SEND ME HOME to change.

Fucking finance.

People who are out on FMLA or STD, abusing it, and you can do nothing. Those who rack up tardies or absences to the point they should be fired then they suddenly claim FMLA.

Agreed with Oryx. Or people who interfere during an emergency (ie fire alarm) giving orders they have no business giving (ie call off the Fire Department and deal with the alarm on my own because they don't want to pay for the false alarm). One time, I had to bite my tongue just to stop from saying to one of the board members "If you cheap cunts would pay to maintain your smoke detectors, then you wouldn't be having all these false alarms! And fuck you I'm not risking a criminal record just to save you assholes a few dollars or finding out this is a real fire and risking my life just to preserve the reputation of this two bit shithole!"

Damn I'm glad to be outta that place!

3rd shift supervisors for a company you do not work for, and are thus not responsible to, following you around while you do your job, critiquing your efforts, overseeing your breaks, delegating unsavoury tasks that would otherwise be done BY THEIR OWN STAFF, adding comments to your time-sheet, restricting access to supplies you need and then complaining that the task wasn't done to their satisfaction, all the while knowing that by denying access to the aforementioned supplies you would not be able to complete the task to any level of satisfaction.

Those people suck.

I like my managers so no complaints there. I can't stand how people can go into a fitting room though and take the clothes off and leave them inside out in the stall for someone else to pick up.
Or lazy employees who don't feel like doing what they are supposed to, and wandering off all day to leave you with the brunt of the work.

Yes yes yes!

I have this shit happen all the damn time. Ask Sam how he hates to pick me up from work on 3-11 because the guy that relieves me is always either really late or spending half an hour talking to idiots from the machine room.

I put up with two people and the FMLA thing for over a year, every time I turned around I was stuck for a double shift because they'd call off claiming an FMLA approved excuse. Drove me crazy.

Sears Holding Co.

...Such a wonderful company.

BUT..

My store is in a large illegal immigrant populated area. I work in the Electronics department at K-Mart.
98% of the time. Said Illegals like to come in and..
-Fuck up the Spanish cd aisle.
-Fuck up the movie aisle.
-Ask how much something is. And then ask "And how much would it be with tax?" In very broken english.. How the fuck am I supposed to know how how much with tax it will be?

This one time I had this one guy come in, Didnt speak a word of english. Took 20 minutes to figure out what he wanted. It was a home theatre system. Total came to $108.61. I didnt even bother asking him for the Smart Plan(Replacement plan) I told him the total(More pointed to it on my computer screen) He pays..IN SINGLES.
This prick gave me $107.00 in Singles. And since I had just counted it all. I said fuck it.

And don;t even get me started on back to school. People are fucking animals.

When I was a teller, I got $1000 in singles, once. And I had to count it...three times. Fucking procedures.

Haha that's terrible. I can relate to working with illegals though. The population of the town I work in is mostly old, angry, rich, white people; but every now and then we'll get some of the illegals who work at the mall near by.

99% of the time they come in for Boost Mobile.
95% of the time they pay in cash.
75% of the time they just point at what they want because they speak absolutely no english.
25% of the time they pay in all in singles or even quarters.
10% of the time they get all pissed off and offended that I can't speak spanish. WTF?

Most of them are nice, but there are a lot who come in and wreak havoc. We've even had one go so far as to ask 100 questions, not buy anything, and then go and piss all over the floor in the bathroom.

Another thing I LOATH is when people call corporate for stupid, dumb-fuck reasons. Few days ago this guy gets all pissy because we sold out of a particular mouse that was on sale. He was all insulted as though we were just hiding it from him.

"Sir, it's 6pm. The sale has been going on since we opened at 9am. A lot of people have come in to buy it and we were only supplied with a limited amount as any other store would be."

Prick: "Well that's ridiculous! This looks like there's going to be a call to corporate!" (He really said that too)

Stupid bastards.

Hahaha, I hate self-important assholes. Because I work at a credit union, people can contact our board of directors. People who know this can be real asshats. Example:

"What do you mean you need my license to withdraw money? I've been with this place for thirty-four years, before you were even born! Well there's going to be a letter to Thad about this..."

If I could count the number of times I've heard that (in one form or another)...

I hear you on that one. If I had a dollar for every time someone said they were going to get me fired, I'd be a very rich man. When someone would get pissy and threaten to report me to management because I'm enforcing rules, I just give them the manager's card and tell them they are welcome to call him. There were a few times the manager actually came out of his office and then would proceed to set them straight. The only time I got removed from a site was when someone lied to the board of directors at a condo and told them I was rude to him. The property manager defended me but the board said 'nope.' At least he told my bosses head office the truth so at least I was just reassigned.

Things that piss me off about work work...
- seeing owners who bring in their pets which they cannot take proper care of (3-5 year old pets that are in such horrible condition from neglect or improper care that they look more like 10+ years old)

Administrators (also known as 'secretaries') who think I can do my job without the equipment necessary. Here's what's happening....

Well, new job going fairly well but there's an issue that is beginning to come to a boil.

We're supposed to have email at work as well as access to the internet so we can assist the residents. Everything up to the modem is installed. However, we're still missing the terminal. Here's what's been happening.

The administrator wants to connect to our controllers for the surveillance cameras and the computer we use to program access cards, monitor activity and lock or unlock doors. No dice says the contractor who installed them. You don't want a virus infecting them and causing all kinds of problems. Also, this will void the warranty. It would seem that the administrator understands this and then not even two days later, is making the same enquiries. This particular bullshit has been happening for almost a month now.

Then finally, I have had to tell the administrator several times we don't have a computer and that one is needed to access email and internet. She basically tells me that I don't know what I'm talking about and that we can access the internet. Today, she has a listing for me but doesn't want to print it out (waste of paper). I once again point out that I don't have a computer and that I've been asking for one since the end of August. She then says, "Oh. Do you want me to save this to a disk?" My reply, "That won't be of any use as I don't have a computer and need one to be able to read the disk."

What is the problem with this stupid bitch? What part of "We need a computer to access these files" does she not understand? What was she expecting with that disk? Was she expecting me to shove it up my ass and I can then magically read the fucking file? Later in the day, I was told a computer was being delivered and installed today. I checked with the evening guard but golly gee fucking whiz, no computer has been received. So in other words, back to square one. How the fuck am I expected to give these extended services without the necessary access? Sadly, the manager is too busy with a lot of other stuff to help but I'm now going to have to complain to her (again) and perhaps ask her to ignore the administrator and make her do her job.

This is slowly becoming the icing on the shit cake!

I can sympathize. I got a similar response.

Where I work, they recently put in a new system for email should the servers in Memphis, TN go down due to some catastrophic issue, as some of our email can be time sensitive. Specifically mine, because if something happens to the software I'm supposed to be helping administrate, I need to know about it since we all technically remote into a server in Tennessee. IT usually leaves a message in my email about any issues or server reboots and it's nice to have advance warning when shit isn't going to work.

Anyway, due to the tornado and severe weather threat, the company saw fit to give us a way to access our email via the internet instead of Lotus notes which we've been using forever.

What I can't get the management to understand is...there is not one computer on the floor where I work that has internet access! They blocked access to the internet on every single workstation on the floor because of incidents of people looking at sports scores and other bullshit during work hours while management was watching.

Where I work, they treat us like we're in prison or something. I still can't get them to understand that if they'd just key internet access to our network log ons, that maybe, just maybe they wouldn't have to lock all the workstations down. Or that if they only would get better net nanny software that maybe they could block all the shit they don't want us to be able to look at. But no, instead I have to use my cellphone and my internet access, which I pay for, not the company, to make their stupid shit work.

Grrr.

Yes, that and people I work with telling me what I did wrong the second I walk in the door.
My boss and his trite sayings. He's like a robot. He's going through a "nice" phase now, I hope it lasts a while.

having to work in two different places so I don't know what the heck is going on in either of them.
