I can sympathize.

In September, I had my crew changed because someone went off for surgery. No big deal, except the two people above me are assholes and the guy that is supposed to work with me is a conceited lazy douchebag who is phony as a 3 dollar bill.

Anyway, one of the assholes above me is a crack/cokehead who can't concentrate on anything longer than 2 minutes, runs to management about EVERYTHING and is a two faced bitch. The other asshole is a retard that doesn't know how the fuck to read the run schedule for the machines and so lazy that he won't do anything unless shamed into it.

Hopefully in two weeks, I get to go back to my own job on my own crew, at least I'd better before I fucking kill somebody.

And people wonder why I prefer working alone. Seems all the slackers and cast-offs get sent over here thinking this will be a cakewalk job. The first one described sounds EXACTLY like the asshole I'm dealing with. He thinks he's something special, but really, he's a deluded thief. His high-and-mighty attitude is grating on my nerves. I'm tired of him storming over here and making demands when he's not even a supervisor. He tries to throw names around to sound intimidating but I know better.

Hope you get back to your regular crew, nothing worse than working with a bunch of dipshits.

Today's rant:

No, random asshat on CL, we are NOT open this weekend. Did you even have to ask? No, I'm not making a special trip out here at 7 PM Christmas Eve JUST FOR YOU so you can buy that printer you saw listed. And no, even if I DID make that trip out here, just for you, you special little snowflake, I would NOT accept $10. It's listed at $40, it's practically brand new and does everything but include midgets that fellate you on command. You will pay every red cent of that $40 and be damned thankful.

As usual, customers treating me like I dont exist and asking the guys for a second opinion on things such as what bulb they need. My boobs may get it in the way sometimes, but they don't impair my ability to help you locate your shitty auto parts.

2.5h to go til weekend time... (and rush hour 401 fuckery)

Well anyone that has to ask what bulb they need is most likely a complete moron anyways - it's really hard to pull out the users manual, or the chiltons/haynes, or the service manual, or look it up themselves in the book or electronic thingy in the bulb aisle...

On the flip side - the majority of auto parts stores employees I've come across are complete fuckwits.

And yes, sexism is bad.

If your place offers installation of blubs/wiper blades/dangly air fresheners, next time some jerk gives you attitude about an employee replaceable part just smile sweetly and as "Do you need that installed for you today?"? not "can I, or would you like" "Do you need that installed for you today"

Edit: AD can not type today...

Whenever I get "a man would know" etc I just stop helping them. Happened a few weeks ago when it was just Jen and I in the store, and the guy started begging for help. We just told him that there is no man here and we can't help him clearly.

I get asked for the parts department often as well, and treated like a receptionist on the phone. And often asked if I am able to help them with a car part.

No, I was clearly just hired for my mediocre looks and very not bubbly personality hehe

I'M ARMY
SON OF A BITCH NAVY
SAILOR IS PIG
DO YOU WANT A 50 UNIFORMS?
DO YOU WANT A HOTBUNK?
SAILOR IS PIG DISGUSTING
VICE ADMIRAL PAUL MADDISON IS A MURDERER
FUCKING R.C.N.

My issue is with people who take trival matters too seriously, in this case, a naval member who I referred to by an army rank. Reason: Member is an M.P. and was wearing the M.P. uniform, which looks more like a regular police uniform and is the same for all branches. So I was unable to notice they are naval.

This caused a pile of baaw and drama, for some reason. This kind of shit pisses me off because its so pointless and really not a big deal yet is blown up to be a huge deal.

People at work with obnoxiously loud sneezes - totally fake and doing it to get attention. Several times a day I hear RAAAAG!! Choo! Each time it's like a gunshot in the workplace, making everyone sit up and say damn!

Getting stuck on a 16 hour shift because some asshole can't tell the other assholes that worked on Saturday that someone can't come in to work under "doctor's orders". In turn, the same assholes neglect to call me on Saturday and tell me that I needed to work 7pm to 7am on Sunday, and because of that I came in to work at 2:30p and worked till 6:30 this morning.

Dumb fucking assholes.

today's exciting story: a man came in and wanted to return an automatic transmission filter kit, supposedly someone gave him the wrong one. so i looked inside the box and notice there isn't a gasket. i pulled the same kit and compared and it indeed comes with a gasket. i explain that i can't refund him if it's missing parts and maybe his mechanic still has the part? so he started screaming and flailing his arms and pacing around the front of my desk and yelling at me about how awful we are and we're such idiots and have no idea what we're doing and so on and so forth and yells for a manager. was told to just credit it defective. so i go back to him and explain that i have permission to refund him but he wouldn't stop screaming about how horrible this place is and how stupid we are. eventually said, LOOK. I DID NOT PERSONALLY SELL YOU THIS PART NOR DID I HIDE THE GASKET THAT IS MISSING. I AM NOT PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SITUATION THAT YOU ARE IN SO YOU NEED TO STOP YELLING AT ME. I AM NOT A MANAGER AND CAN'T JUST REFUND HALF EMPTY BOXES, I AM JUST A PEON. I AM HELPING YOU OUT HERE. SO LET'S STOP THE YELLING NOW OKAY? he continued to rant but less aggressively i guess...

however, giving these crazies what they want is only going to reinforce the behavior. i don't understand why people seem to treat the people that serve them like absolute garbage.

Yup. Did almost six years at the Rat Shack. Mine was a corroded cordless phone battery from 5 years prior that looked like the asshole dredged it up from the bottom of Lake Erie. And he pitched a real snit when I told him "There is no way I'm returning that." My boss, fortunately, was cool and also told the guy to get real and take a hike.

Sales guys that bring you a rush project (I work in packaging design) saying he need it right away, customer need to ship this week... on and on... So you bust out two different package options (per their request), work through lunch to get it done.

The project comes back the next day because 'the customer' does not know what they are doing. Sales guy has 20+ years of experience and should know from the get go that the package will not fly due to the nature of the automotive world.

So now its back and still a rush. Also got the customer needs to send a test pack to Japan (effing Japan???) for review before proceeding. So we need to design, prototype, ship to Japan, and approve pack then run production so they can ship this week???

WTF if wrong with this?

effing Sales guys...

Dear random retarded Craigslist high-on,

Calling me at THREE-THIRTY IN THE GODDAMN MORNING is not, and I repeat NOT cool. You, sir, are very lucky I remembered to put my work phone on silent. I am not polite, decent, or anything near human at 3:30 AM. Can you not read? The postings say, and I quote "We can be reached between 8 AM and 5 PM." You call at 6 PM or 7 PM? I might not answer, but I won't be upset. You call at that unholy hour? I will sign your number up for every solicitor, charity, and politician I can find.

And please refrain from leaving me disjointed, rambling voicemails with all your other stoner buddies yammering in the background. I seriously don't want to listen to 5 minutes of bullshit before you get anywhere near a halfway coherent point.

I think everyone should spend time in retail hell so maybe they would understand our position...And maybe not treat us like shit.

Yup. You have to do at least 3 years of Nov 1 - Jan 2 retail shifts at some major retailer. Bonus points if said retailer is any of the following: Wal-Mart, Kmart, Toys R Us, Target, or Meijer. Extra bonus points if you are a female working at a male-dominated store or vise versa. (Girls at Autozone, GameStop, or Radioshack, men at Kohl's or Bath & Body Works)
