headed down to Lake George tonite for the shenanigans after the fireworks... basically the Saturday night of the Nationals, the whole town turns out, lines US 9 and watches the cars cruise from one of the George to the other. Some folks, mostly the people that own the bars along 9 will throw water out into the road so it's easier to do a smokeshow.
this shit usually goes on until 2am or so.

it's definitely worth going...

anyways, got into a battle on with an Audi S4. We raced from Exit 21 up to 22 (about 1.5 miles) and just before the ramp, I had his Teutonic ass. Good guy, though and it was a beautifully done car. Next up was a mid 70's Camaro... we raced up 9 light to light... he smoked me like a marlboro red. i don't know what he had under the hood, but I can tell you this, it wasn't a 305 and it wasn't stock!
the last guy was a grudge match... blue RSX Type S with a blower. we got on at 21 and headed south towards Glens Falls... I couldn't get around him and he couldn't get away from me. It was a good run and it's been a long time since I'd had the Cobalt up over 140.

anyways, fun night... almost didn't want to come home, but you tempt fate that many times, you're going to get pinched.

I never drive fast anymore... I drive a TDI.

I actually had the Tercel out at Shannonville last weekend for some fun... she's working great, blew the doors of a CRX Si owned by some kid who thought it was the fastest car in the world AND kept up with my former boss's WRX STI rally car on the track... which felt great. It's set up for gravel, so isn't really a terror on the tarmac, but keeping up with it was nice.

my car when it works is strictly highway top end car, and when i put a TDI fifth gear in it will top out at 260ish
