How cool are Solarforce L2s? I know I'm not the only one around here who has one (er, I have three... and I bought one for my wife as a bike light).

I've always been happy with the CR123 versions I have, but I'm even more impressed with the 18650 version, with far better runtime. Just a solid, reliable, relatively cheap torch. Springs at each end of the battery compartment to keep good contact with the battery, even if the thing is bumping around. Decent throw, but fine for close-up stuff. I like it.

Old pic of the CR123 version (not that the 18650 one looks any different)

You can also get a shorter body version that takes one CR123, and a body extender that allows 2x18650 for ultra-runtime.

Oh, and much as I dislike those assault bezels on the older units I have, I have found them occasionally handy to use as a (large) screwdriver, or to jam into concrete to stop myself sliding down a steep slope.

Go, little L2, go!

Oh, those are just rubber table leg ends from a hardware store - I jam them on the end to let them stand up, and screw a cuphook in to let me hang it from stuff. Handy!

(I had that picture handy in the DIY thread from a while back, you see)
