the thing with the Aztek and Rendezvous is that if you can get by the really questionable styling, they are a pretty good car. The all wheel drive is competent, the interior is livable and really functional. It's just fucking ugly as sin.
the available engines are corporate workhorses and easy/cheap to repair or replace. The Stabilitrack equipped models are pretty reliable as well.

Yeah, my grandfather picked up a 2002 Rendezvous back in 2004 actually. It had some brake issues, but the dealer fixed it at no cost to him. Its pretty solid vehicle and the stlying I think worked at a time when SUV's were all giant boxes. Its one of the few cars I have driven where you feel more like your commanding a ship than just driving a car.

Buying a Aztek is like marryen a ugly girl that can cook. It may do what you need it to do well but you still hate bein seen with it.

An ugly girl who can cook, but her intake gaskets leak and she has noisy wheel bearings. However, she does like to go camping and her moo moo doubles as a tent.

Heard the tent was originally a parachute. So when you got tired of lookin at it you could push it off a cliff and there would be no consequences. Then they realized it looked like it fell off a cliff already. Had to do something with all that extra fabric.

my friend Willy had one right before he and his wife separated... as I said, once you got past the looks, the interior was really cool. It reminded me of something from Star Wars. All grab handles and oversize, burly switches... it was just that styling... damn.

The A/C controls look like the ones in my Gran Prix, the duel controls on mine have failed and I no longer have heat. The local dealership wanted around $450 for the head unit. So consider the slider switches on the AC a weak point and an expensive repair.

bucky, my grand prix didnt have the dual zone AC, but when i would put the AC on, i would get heat on one side cold on the other, discovered it was a vacuum leak. anyways, i replaced that panel with the dual zone one, would you believe i now have dual zone heat. they already had teh dual zone plenum... they charge for the panel dats it dats all

They have an issue with the BCM cooking itself as well, lights start flickering, the radio dies, the locks go haywire and it won't run. We've had a few come in doing that.

Well, thats debatable on GM alone and we each have their own preferences.

However, the Aztek and the Rendezvous were both made at the infamous Mexico Plant which as I recall JD Power & Associates rated somewhere in the bottom in quality.
