After hearing who the "cameo zombie" is, I really really wanna go see this. I'm surprised at how well it's doing, honestly. I thought it was going to die a horrible death.

It was good, I didn't think it would be because to me Woody Harrelson is completely underwhelming and acts like the same character in every movie he's in......but it was a good movie

Spoilers

Finally saw it. I actually didn't really like it too much. Who really has their hair, make up, and outfits look PERFECT through out a zombie apocalypse? When they were about to shoot the little girl for being infected, why didnt they check for a bite? And why kill bill murray? And why did the little girl not shoot the gun when they shot in the air after killing him? She just stood there with the gun. (I'm unusually good with pointing out subtle things like that). And when the two chicks were stuck on that ride, where the fuck did they get so much ammunition? And who the fuck seriously goes and turns on all the lights and rides at a carnival in one of the most densely populated areas of the country after saying their main priority was to stay alive?? More: I've never seen a Floridian redneck drive a cadillac. Also, why did he call his son a puppy in the beginning of the movie? Why is it that they make a big deal about not knowing each other's names, but at the climax we find out the bitches name? Who cares about her? And why so many cheesy one liners from movies? The Deliverance one was ok, but BABE? WTF

Ok, I'm done. All in all it was entertaining but, I think it could have been done waaaaay better.

Okay, wow. If you're going to rail on a movie for such small things, then I'm surprised you enjoy any movies.

1) A huge theme in that movie was trying to make the best of the shitty situation. His rulebook even stated "#32 - Enjoy the little things".. Tallahassee, for example, it was Twinkies. They use these old life functions to help cope with the mechanisms of post-apocalyptic life. They've obviously gotten pretty good at surviving, so why not try to make things easier on yourself by dressing up as you would if the world were still the same?

2) If you see a child crying, and know the outcomes of a bite, when the child herself, admitted to being bitten.. why would look for a bite? Don't you think the pale discolouration of her skin would be enough to assume she's been bitten?

3) Because it was a cameo. His prolonged presence would have been annoying. Not to mention, that was the best scene in the movie.

4) She's 12. Perhaps she didn't understand the concept of a gun salute? You're right, you are pretty good at pointing that stuff out.

5) Pockets exist for a reason.

6) This one, I actually agree with you. But since I'm on a rampage, their happiness of finally making a cross country journey to something they could relate to as kids led to the irrationality of the desire to turn the power back on.

7) You've never seen a redneck driving a Cadillac because they can't afford them. You generally don't have to pay for things in the post-apocalyptic world.. hence he's driving a Cadillac.

8) It's called character development. It's commonly used in cinema to help develop feelings for the characters. By showing this badass's soft side with a puppy, you start to feel sympathetic towards him.. it's building it up. He was hiding it from the others, since it's social Darwinism.. the strong survive. If he let himself open to weakness, how would the others view him?

9) They avoided using names so to avoid getting attached. They've learned the lessons, as people die pretty easily when you're trying to survive. That was a huge theme in the movie.. not showing a human side when it comes to your own survival. And it was more character development. Apparently quite a few people cared about her.. as she is a main character. And fucking hot.

You really can't pick apart a movie for it's irrationality. Doing so makes you look like a huge idiot, especially when I think you missed many key points. It's a movie designed to make you laugh, and the cheesy one liners pay homage to classic B-movies.. and they did a stand up job.

Great movie. Absolutely destroyed my expectations. I think it's a smarter movie than people (Oryx) are giving it credit for.

Understand this guys...this originally was supposed to be a weekly TV show!

The story goes...

About the time that CBS cancelled Jericho, about two years ago, a guy came to them with a pilot for a show, I don't know what they called it. CBS bought the script, but with the Mad Cow crap and disease crap we've had over the past year or two, they decided not to make the pilot, so CBS gave the rights back to the writer and he took it to Columbia/Tri Star, who loved it as much as CBS did and picked it up.

Realize this guy took 26+ episodes of material and made it into an hour and a half motion picture, which seriously kicked some ass. It was intended to be what it was, a comic representation of all those dumb zombie movies, like 28 Days Later, etc.

He took 26+ hours of material and made one, somewhat cohesive, really good, fun, two hour motion picture out of it. Even Gene Siskel liked it, which is a hard fscking sell. I also fully intend to go see it in the theatre again, unless my...source...works out.

If this makes enough money, we'll see an awful lot more, because there's an awful lot more to tell. This movie was only the first episode and a half actually. The Bill Murray thing was one of the best scenes in the movie...but just think if Patrick Swayze could have done it...that would have been something, but my favorite is still the Deliverance gag.

Oh...and one more thing...did you ever in your life see Rambo reload or run out of ammo?

No? I didn't think so.

I wasn't expecting much, but I thought it kicked some major ass.

I am kind of particular about my zombie movies ... I prefer to have a plausible contagion.

A genetically evolved mad cow would work if it became more potent and less virulent.

You can contract mad cow via airborne particles from simply standing over infected meat while it's cooking. And cooking does not eliminate the virus either.

They're saying 2012 for the sequel. I for one can't wait.

Anybody hear anything about that there's like 45 minutes of extra footage from the first one and if that's going to be released?
