i had a day from hell, the grand prix dash lit up like a xmas tree (new computer) the sunfire had no brakes (brake job in driveway at 11 at night in the rain) and the womans optra5 was pissing tranny fluid. Anyways 30$ repair, but turns out its a gm only tool needed to fill the tranny. Anyways i go to my dealer "fichault pontiac" they are winding down operations (they got a kia dealership and open tomorrow in an old toyota dealer nearer to my house) its sad, ive bought 4 cars at this dealer. the showroom is freshly renovated in the gm 2000 look. they only have 2 mechanics in the shop, the showroom has a rusty pontiac 6000 ste sitting in it. It was a nice mom and pop dealer, Ben Fichault was the one who sold me 2 of my cars. As much as i hate KIA, the service ive gotten from these guys would make me consider at least buying used from them. They gave me a look at the shop at the new dealer, kinda funny He has his racks of gm service manuals. he has those BLue GM lifts too. He told me that he is going to push the fact his shop may be a kia shop but his guys know GM. we shall see how they do!

fucking Kia.
i am sick of fucking Kia... sick of fucking Hyundai.

Did i tell you guys I tried out a new Genesis Coupe the other day, the 2.0T model with a manual shift? Don't waste your time. It's $25k US and honestly, for the money, go buy a V6 Mustang or Camaro. It just didn't do 'anything' really well. I stopped and looked at it because, well frankly, the body is drop dead sexy. So the salesman, who reminds me of an embalmed Mr. Rogers, gets the 'key' it's one of those stupid push button starters (What is this? 1950?) and the car fires up. The engine sounds non-threatening, no boost gauge inside, the clutch feels 'detached' somehow, like you shoving clutch on your mom's old Accent. This is supposed to be a pony car attempt, but it felt like an emasculated Tiburon. If this is supposed to be a 'turbo' car shouldn't there be a bit of a growl? The seats were ok, but the dash was done in that stupid brushed silver shit, you know the stuff I mean, the silver applique that will look like shit in 15,000 miles. I was very turned off by the interior...

I shut the car off and got out, not in the least interested. But, typical Hyundai salesman, he tried to sell me the Genesis with the V6. Sorry, but for the money, i don't care how could they are building Hyundais today, I'd rather have a Camaro or Mustang... once a Korean shitbox, always a Korean shitbox... they just are getting better had hiding how much of shitbox they are.

As for Kia, fuck Kia. Underperforming, underwhelming anonymous people movers. At least when you buy a fucking Toyota, Nissan or Honda, you're getting a reputable car. Kia and Hyundai might as well be fly by night fucking motors. the only car I could think of that was worse was Daewoo and wouldn't you know it, who came along and bought them up? GM. Makes me want to slit my fucking wrists. I still remember when Hyundai was the American Motors of the far east... buy engine and transmissions from anyone who would sell to them, body dies from Mitsubishi.

Yeah, why don't I have another Budweiser, another chaw and go wax my Silverado again, right....

Hahaha... umm yeah I bought a 2003 GMC Sierra SLE yesterday so I can't comment on that.

The V8 Genesis is pretty amazing to drive and listen to, I'm pretty sure the 2.0T is another version of the Mitsubishi world engine found in the Lancers and stuff.

Kia makes heavy trucks in Asia, mostly garbage trucks. Which is what their cars should be hauled away as.

i'm in no mood for your shit.
i started the car, sat in it and was so unimpressed by the way it looked inside, by how cheap it looked and felt, what was the fucking point in driving it? Of course, because it wasn't made here people like you shoot your fucking wad all over it. Fuck it... send your fucking money to Korea. Enough people have been sending it to Japan and China, what's the fucking point, right?

nothing with a fucking hyundai emblem on it will ever have the word amazing near it, unless you're saying what an amazing piece of shit it is.

You pretty much described GM as well...

Seriously though...what the hell is so bad about the interior? The guy I work with has a 09 lancer GT but he crashed it 2 weeks ago. Insurance company gave him a 08 accent for the time being. I've got to ride in it several times and even drove it a few times over the last 2 weeks. As much as I don't really like hyundai, it's really not that bad. The engine is noisy and gutless, and the interior is bland, generic looking, but it did feel like a solid car. The dash felt solid, the seats were alright. I honestly felt the interior was on par with my buddies G5. I'm 6'2 and had plenty of room, and was fairly comfy, and I'm used to my awesomely comfortable 2007 a4...

I took the genesis coupe 2.0t for a spin, it was the gt with limited slip, and all that. It was nice, rwd, turbo, lsd, and all on 87 octane, and good on gas.

I found the interior quiet, comfortable, looked ok to me. I will give my money to whomever makes a good car, whether it be korean, italian, german, whatever. Hyundai has come a long way, they were never a bad product, just new to the american market, they really stand behind their products, and for the money, it's quite amazing what you get.

I like the idea of a 4 cyl with forced induction, not sure if I would opt for a 6 cyl camaro, or stang.

I will test out the camaro, and stang though, before I buy.

Here, I even took a photo with my cellphone this morning. We have been using it a lot recently, because we've been working in the field, and it's been raining non stop all week, so I'd rather dirty up a rental than my Audi.

For the money, I think anything in this price category would be boring. Hyundai just cost less, and gives you everything the other guys would give you.

That's very true. I felt the same about my brothers ex-girlfriends Wave (or Aveo, can't remember which one she had). It was boring looking, and boring to drive, but felt nice and solid. Great little car for a 17 year old chick.

my boss bought a brand new sonata in 2003, it was better equipped than my sunfire, better put together and nicer fit and finish for 3000$ less

Yeah I think the Aveo is a suzuki, good little cars they are. For sure it's perfect for a 17 year old girl. They cost next to nothing too.

I notice about the sonata's that they look like they should cost quite a bit more than they do, they seem way above a sunfire for sure.

Kia is quite popular here in Portland because Kia was at first back in 1994 only sold at one dealer in all of North America (Bob Lamphire) and it became a sales hit with the Kia Sophia and its famous price tag of $6995. Its why you can get Kia parts real easy at most auto parts stores here in the area.

My personal opinion on Kia after driving many of their cars, it seems its high end models like the Optima and Forte don't have as much bang for the buck as comparable models from its competitors. Its subcompacts/entry level models like the Spectra I am very impressed with; the quality is very comparable to an Aveo sedan.

The Soul is actually pretty slick; its going to give Scion a run for its money for sure. Its a franken-mobile quite honesty, its one part subcompact, one part SUV, one part minivan. I think if someone offered a suspension lift kit for it, it would rock off road.

We sell a lot of Aveos and G3 Waves at the dealership... they're kind of a disposable car, and no better than any Kia. Lots of issues with just plain cheaply made parts, and they're expensive to fix. By 100,000 km they're falling apart completely.

GM's move to get Daewoo to produce their small cars was a mistake.
