I'm gonna guess u had a 93-96 limited full time 4x4 and the Dana 35 rear.

'95 Limited, as described. I guess there's a coupling in the transfer case that goes to hell and makes it impossible to turn in parking lots at low speeds. It would also pulse forward against the park pin, on level ground, engine off. I never saw anything like it.

The diff. noise I chalked up to water getting in the housing after finding a stripped out breather on the axle tube, but after a little research, they apparently all have diff problems.

The electrical problems were mainly switch related. Windows wouldn't work, alarm wouldn't disable when I unlocked the doors. What a nightmare...

So, yeah, avoid V8 grand cherokees. My 4.0 grand cherokee was pretty much pain free though.

make sure the rear suspension is not rotten... if it's got massive sag in the ass, check it carefully. Also, if I remember the Monaco/Dynasty/5th Avenue had the powertrain from the Intrepid in it (that body, I am pretty sure, was almost the mechanical testbed for that powerplant/suspension packaging).
