If you're a fan of Joel and Ethan Coen (which you should be), then you should definitely check this movie out. If you like intense chases, and action scenes with obscene twists and plot turns, then you'll hate this movie. There's virtually no plot to speak of.

You just watch an ordinary man live his life, as bad things continuously happen to him. It brings into play the question of whether God intervenes, or things just happen out of random, and leaves things open to interpretation. Everyone I've talked to about it has had different theories about the entire movie.. it was that good.

I understand why it had a limited release, because 8/10 moviegoers would absolutely despise this, claiming it to be two hours of nothing happening.. but it's one of those movies that makes you remember small details, and try to piece together what was being said.

Check it out.

Well said. I loved it, despite a couple of dragging scenes. Brilliant warped humor. Not as violent as this lol trailer might imply. Not violent at all really. And the 70's set dec, cars etc. Jewish humor, acting, all was awesome. All said, this is not your typical formula movie, won't appeal to everyone.

Anything the Brothers Coen do is worthy of a looksie. A bad Coen film is still miles ahead of most director's "good" films. I bought this on Bluray on release day. Very entertaining indeed!
