The VR38DETT is a great motor Dave, but it's attached to a terrible transmission and put into a terrible platform. Which makes it pretty much useless. The 370Z Nismo Package is a far superior car to the GTR.

I respect opinions, but no way. The transmission is a genius design with little to no loss in RPM while shifting. The GTR platform is an amazing design and its in a whole different world than a Z.

I worked with 3 GTR and 2 370z cars this past weekend.

370z has far more modder potential, and could be a far better car than the GTR
With the GTR -WYSIWYG- you blow the engine good luck getting a new one.

8: Chrysler 340 LA

6: RB26DETT/2JZ-GTE

4: Boxer Engine. 2ZZ-GE (celica/lotus), 13B-REW (RX-7) TDI (Audi)

It's the culmination of Japanese automotive technology in one gearbox. It's a piece of are with out a doubt. The problem with it is, it can't handle the car it's in. It would be great in a lighter/less powerful car, in fact, it would be down right awesome as it is a straight-up race transmission in street trim. But it's not beefy enough to handle the VR38DETT + 50,000lb chassis of the GTR.

Yes, but not common cars?

And maybe someone can correct me on this, but I think there's maybe ONE person who has even touched anything above a V12 in here?
