...is by far my favourite book, I'm reading it again for probably the fifth time. The whole version of the world presented in the book has always been a really interesting concept to me. Anyone else read this one?

Yup. I've read it, a lot, surprisingly.
Cyberpunk stuff was a hobby...way back when.
It was mentioned in Corey Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, that's where I first heard about it and looked it up because I didn't understand the reference.

Yeah, I'm a proud owner. It's pretty good but struggled to break free from the Neuromancer shadow. It was criticised unfairly. However, I think Neal Stephenson really kicked ass in his next book 'The Diamond Age' - His best book ever, IMHO. Read it, man.

I'll vote for The Diamond Age over Snow Crash, too - it feels more original in style, while Snow Crash still has that lingering Neuromancer sense to it.
