the same can be said about fucking VW's, Hondas and Nissans... sure you throw $10gs at a Honda Civic you can outrun a bone stock Camaro

You completely misunderstand what im saying. Comparing a Honda to a Camaro is retarded. Somewhere in this forum in the past 2 days, you said something about spanking STI or EVO cars all day long (or something like that). Take 10'gs and put it in your Cobalt, then take 10'gs and put it in a EVO or STI. Lets see what happens then. Whats going to happen, is the EVO or STI will be twice the car the Cobalt is, even with the same amount of money into it.

You were the one talking about spanking them, im just making a point.

after 11 years of this superior attitude, it wears fucking thin. I used to LOVE going out to the Bridge Road and shutting import assholes up... with a CAVALIER. Nothing better. I'm getting tired of explaining myself. I like what I like because of experience. I've raced my Cavaliers and my Cobalts and had fun doing it. Are there faster cars out there? Always. There is always someone faster than you, you just haven't met them yet. That's just the zen yoda rule of racing.

and i have to listen to this shit day after day after day.

I can hear the same argument being made but flipped 180 degrees against you.

A lot of posturing but if you guys really want to argue about what's racing what and outperforming what, it's meaningless drivel without specifics.

Anyway, back to Saab...

GM really took a brand that had a style or character and dumbed it down with badge engineering until it was a shell of its former self. Nobody wants it now because its identity is dead and its style has been destroyed. I always thought the idea of Koenigsegg taking over Saab seemed odd, so seeing it fall through doesn't surprise me.

I don't see anything on the horizon for GM that I'm confident will really do them a lot of good. At least it seems their enthusiasm for the Volt is calming down, it seemed like they expected that to save them, I don't think it's anywhere near enough to pull that off.

Hard to see where Chrysler is going at this point as well but GM still seems to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Exactly... we fight like little girls in here, but I think in the end we're all car nuts and get along pretty well. We just get under each other's skin a bit.

i owned an old saab 9000 turbo, that car was awsome, at the time it seemed to handle great too.
when i bought my VW i looked at getting a 9-3, the body style was very attractive, but the interior was awful. looked like it hadnt changed in decades and i believe thats a GM issue, not so much an issue this year with GM, but previously they had no style / class whatsoever.

this and the 9-3 always wanted to be repaired for some reason

I drove one once... about 15-16 years ago. It was very nice! It seemed to have plenty of power and rode very well. I didn't get an opportunity to give it a real workout, just some putting around town. However, it certainly opened my eyes to the foreign market.
