| | | Posted by Neptune Well jeez, now I feel like the odd one out for having "normal" teen years. I really enjoyed high school. I wasn't a brainiac by any means. I got A's in the classes I really enjoyed and B's and C's in the ones I didn't. I wasn't popular either, but I had a nice tight-knit group of friends who never got into any real trouble. I never did any kind of drug and didn't even have my first drink until I was in college. I had a really nice boyfriend who treated me well. My parents had a happy marriage, my brothers were good kids, we lived in a small cozy house with a cat and a dog. Other than normal sibling rivalry or parent/teen squabbles, everybody got along. It wasn't until I turned 20 that I really fucked my life up.
| Well...that's just GREAT. GOOD FOR YOU! I'll bet you were a cheerleader, and your mom baked cupcakes for the pep rallies, and your dad smoked a nice pipe and wore a cardigan and your brother's name is Skip or Chip (aka 'The Chipper'), and his best buddy's name is Eddie or Stinky or Potsie, and you named your dog Rusty. And the ice cream man always came to your street first and you wore a nicely pressed dress on Sunday's for church, and you combed your hair 100 times before you went to bed, and wrote happy things in your diary. And your really nice boyfriend's name was Chet. Or Steve. And your dad respected him because he offered to cut the lawn/trim the hedge, and your mom thought he was a sweet, well-mannered boy. Just buggin. See how easy it is to fall into cynicism when you hear that someone else's childhood was textbook average...or even textbook ordinary and well adjusted?

| Close. I was the chubby girl in school so no cheerleading for me. I worked on the school newspaper. My brother's name is Blake and lol, my boyfriend's name was Steve. The church thing is accurate (gasp, I grew up Mormon!) It's ok, I got myself knocked up when I was 20, my baby's daddy abused me so bad I had to move back in with mom and dad, and now I spend my Friday nights here on UER with you fine people.

| | | Christian boarding school, corporal punishment, cruel and malicious teachers, daily beatings from senior class, daily beatings from class motherfucker, sexual molestation...I could go on, but why? I used to lay in bed at night and fantasize about breaking into the duty master's cabin, liberating the shotgun, and murdering the senior class in their beds.
