Noticed the sign while driving south on I-75 today. Never gave it a second thought until I noticed a few of the panes of glass were broken out. A quick google search show it closed in 2008 (if the one I read about is the correct one). Has anyone checked it out?

That's been closed for a few years now -- I forget the name of the theater, but I think it was similar to the one at Florence and at Norwood. It was a horrid location.

There you are, right back in the jungle again.

It was a Showcase.

The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave.

Drove by yesterday. Area didn't seem that bad, and entry looked possible. There was another car in the parking lot though, so I didn't stick around long. Wasn't sure if it was security, undercover leos, druggies/gangbangers, or whatever.

Easy entry, but it's alarmed. Just found out the hard way.

Is the alarm purely audiable, or silent? Did it alert security, or just go make lots of racket?

All of the Showcase Cinemas have alarms. The one in Louisville (which is huge...) has motion sensors above all of the doors. We found out the hard way.

Glass: Hey, looks like it's all clear. That's just a light for the emergency lights.
Me: Okay, pshew!
Glass: (Turns back to me) What is that light above your head?

WOOOOP! WOOOOP!

That used to be Showcase Cinemas Florence. I did contracting work there right before it closed down. This was essentially a carbon copy of the old showcase cinemas in Eastgate and Norwood. The door to the projection floor is on the left side as you walk in the main lobby, and the offices are on the right side down towards the theaters. There’s really not much else to see. When I was there, the place had pretty much been cleared out. About the only things left were the projectors, and the seats; and managers said that they had people coming to take those out as well.
