I actually finalize the deal tomorrow morning, but I'm so damn excited I have to tell someone about it. It's a black 1987 325i sedan, with a 2.7i stroker engine, completely rebuilt from the bottom up with all new seals, hoses, gaskets, etc. A 327i, if you will H&R in the back, Eibach in the front. Turner motorsports chip. Stage 2 clutch. Probably more I'm forgetting. Will post pics tomorrow when I get her home!

PICS OR BAN!

hahaha... congrats! I've owned many, many E30s including an '89 Hartge B2.7 stroker and have loved all but one of them.

Just recently bought a '91 318i that the previous owner really loved.

you German guys are so like the Japaweenie guys... you looooove your body codes.

with us domesticals, we don't call them A-bodies, or J-bodies, or DEW bodies... it's either a Cobalt or a Cavalier or a Mustang. P

With Bimmers it's just because there's so many different models that are based on the same platform, ie, with the E30:

316i
318i
318is
324td
325
325e
325es
325i
325is
325ix
M3

all basically look like:

With the Japanese stuff... I never got it.
A '91-'95 Civic is a Civic, a 1st gen Rx-7 is just a 1st gen Rx-7... and they have different trim levels.

You "domesticals" should. and because the german codes are chronological, it makes things even easier.

well, with long-term produced GM's, there are generations to each platform. For example... Gen I J-bodies= 1982-1987, Gen II= 1988-`990, Gen II.5= 1991-1994, Gen III= 1995-1999, Gen III.1= 2000-2002, Gen III.2= 2003=2005

of course, if you know what you're talking about, it's a no-brainer anyways.

1.

2.

The paint has seen better days (pretty sure it was rolled on) but it runs and drives like an absolute dream. The wheels are very nice, too.

Headlight looks fine to me... Don't really see what's wrong with it. It points straight that's for sure.

really?

look at the picture. the lamp closest to you is rotated about 30 degrees out. compare the horizontal striations on the lens with the grille, and the other lamps. since the beam is projected in a flat pattern, this will divert much of the beam's power off to the left, into the eyes of oncoming drivers. i'd suggest removing it and checking to see that the locating tabs on the lamp are engaged in the bucket properly, and that it is the proper bucket for the car, and for the proper side.

OK, I see what you;re saying. From my experience in night driving it seems to point straight, but I'll have to take a look.

The lip is actually from a Volvo. And the exhaust is from an Eclipse. Haha, it's a bit of a frankencar. I think at least 4 other cars have given their lives to make this one possible
