assume that this life is self-aware, and that we have imbued it with rudimentary emotions, cognition, sapience and the capacity to learn. it differs from us in that it is a mechanical/technological construction and can interface directly with electronics. It possesses both the advantages and disadvantages of that nature.

what are the philosophical implications, if any? i cast a broad net in the question, and welcome any perspective however far afield it may be.
