"Stuffed Jalapeno's with cream cheese and bacon"
easy to make and a great appetizer or bar style snack food.

prep time: 20min
cook time: 20min

what you need:
-10-20 jalapeno's
-i pack of bacon
-cream cheese
-toothpicks

what to do:
#1 cut jalapeno's in half- length wise and remove the stem,
#2 clean out the seeds and the white membrane,
#3 if you don't like them too hot, soak the cut jalapino's in cold water for an hour,
#4 spread cream cheese in the halfs to taste but no more then level,
#5 cut bacon strips in thirds, and place one third on each pepper half, use toothpick to secure the bacon,
#6 pre-heat your oven or toaster oven to 400'F, on the middle rack back for 20 minutes- broil for a few minutes if you want crispy bacon.

these also can be pre-made then frozen.
cook from frozen for 30 minutes.

*wash your hands with dish detergent after handling jalapeno's...

Louies awesome cheese dip

1. Using a microwave safe bowl, chop up some cubes of Velveeta. You can go as big or as small as you want.

2.Pour salsa on top of the cubes, there should be at least a 1:1 ratio of salsa to cheese, if not more salsa.

I like the fresh stuff you get at the deli counter in the grocery, but Totitos, Pace, or even Newman's will work.

3. Now spice it up, add hot sauce if you like it, sprinkle in a little cumin, garlic powder, and some pepper.

Also, if you have any frozen taco meat, leftover kielbasa, or sausage bits, you can throw that in too.

4. Now microwave on high, covered, for one minute. Stir, then cook for another minute. If its still not smooth, give it yet another minute.

5. Throw some tortilla chips in a bowl and microwave them for 30-45sec. Tostitios Restaurant Style are, hands down, the best tortilla chip ever.

Microwaving the chips will make them taste fresh out of the fryer.

ENJOY

In the end, it should look something like this:

Although I usually use more salsa than the photo above.

The Atomic Buffalo Turds (bacon wrapped, cream cheese filled jalepenos) were the first thing I thought of when I read the title of the thread. I make them all the time. I usually just wrap an entire strip of bacon around the filled jalepeno. You can do a lot of different things with them, too. I've added cheddar and goat cheese, bbq sauce and smoking them to cook is a usual method of cooking, but baking or broiling makes it easier.
Great stuff.

These look good, I'll definitely be trying them. Good advice on washing your hands! Years ago I had no idea that you MUST wash your hands after handling peppers and made the mistake of rubbing my eye with my contacts in. It was beyond painful and it took a week for the pepper to wash off my contacts so I could wear them again

Ambivalent? Well yes and no
