Another Jack White band, though this time he's primarily drums and backing vocals. I'm liking it more and more over time...

Anyone else checked them out?

Just listened to the first song I could find, Cut Like a Buffalo. Reminds me of the Beastie Boys of all people.

You betcha

Treat Me Like Your Mother and Hang You Up From The Heavens are pretty accessible, if you can find those.

Damn this is good! You holding out on the good stuff Meta?

I've listened to every song i could find and i liked them all, but that Treat Me Like Your Mother song was the best in my opinion. Plus, that video was pretty cool. Kinda puts a shame to old school pistol shootouts when you've got automatic weapons and a really high pain tolerance.

I can't believe I hadn't looked for videos before! Interesting clip for Treat Me Like Your Mother - I liked the sunbeams through Jack's body at the very end, there

Perhaps the thing I liked most about this band at first is that it doesn't just sound like an extension of The White Stripes.

Actually i thought i could hear some White Stripes while Jack was singing in that Treat Me Like Your Mother song, but that might be because i haven't listened to a whole lot of White Stripes recently and i immediately started thinking of both. Whereas your a big fan of the White Stripes and can probably tell the differences between the two.

Just listened to that Cut Like A Buffalo song and it's really good! Definitely one of favs by them so far.

Excellent! I hear they're busily working on a follow-up album, too.

Good news!

In regards to the album i must admit i was a little disappointed to only find 11 tracks on the disc, but a few tracks are over 5 or 6 minutes so i guess that makes up for it.

It's funny though looking at the charts it's doing quite well both in Canada and the U.S with a ranking of 7 and 6 respectively, but in Australia it's ranked 50. Guess they haven't made alot of waves down into your neck of the woods yet.

Yeah, I don't think they're getting much commercial airplay, though the national 'music-oriented' (formerly 'youth-oriented') station has had interviews and a fair amount of airtime for them. I wonder if the tour will have any impact?

Yeah hopefully their tour helps out....as they usually do.

I see they have 4 or 5 Australian shows booked in March with one near you at The Tivoli? How's that place? Good venue?

Yeah, the Tivoli is probably the biggest of the smaller venues - it's not the convention centre, but it's reasonable. It's probably the classiest venue in this city, though, which is nice.

Yeah i figured it was a smaller venue with some of the smaller bands going there and a few comedians apparently too. Also, i see Jeff Beck is doing a show beginning of April. Jeff Beck is god on the guitar!

It was great, really good. They played a bunch of songs off the upcoming second album, for which I am now jumping and down in anticipation.
