Likewise here. I shower daily and wear fresh clothes daily. Seems enough to not turn into a drywall peeler.

He didn't even wear Deodorant and he was a sweaty guy. So I politely told him he should. No problems.

Well there is the problem. Every other day just won't cut it. This is especially true for males. One must shower or bathe every day. No exceptions.

I work with someone just like you in that respect...no aftershave or any of that. He just smells good to begin with, even after 8 hours. Me...well, I have body spray, soap and perfume that all match. I'm neurotic about that, which I know you know Sam. Also end up taking like two showers a day at least, just because it's hot where I work and I feel icky after all day in there.

take a walk over to recaust some night... 8 hours there redefines what icky is.

When I first started here I had a cubicle by this one computer guy. He's been talked to by HR before because of his smell and he does nothing. He leaves his office filthy, so filthy that anyone comes in to use his computer when he's not there they put a cloth over his mouse etc. I had perfect strangers coming up to me, including Managers, saying "you're the new girl who sits by so-and-so, sorry for your luck". I started counting how many days he'd wear the same outfit, I got to 23. I used to put a lot of smelly hand cream on so that I could at least just smell it and I think at least one of the times I started smoking again so it would block some of the smells.

There was also someone recently, 20-something girl in my office who smelled like catfood/fishy smell on occasion. If she walked by it wafted off of her. I don't know which part of her the smell came from, and quite frankly I can go the rest of my life not knowing. It actually made another co-worker gag.

Ok heres my smelly person gripe. I have a supervisor who not only reeks of B.O., dirty clothes and foot odor but smells like a dirty ashtray as well. I think the stink has a lot to do with the fact his sense of smell is completely shot from chain-smoking all day long. I have to time my trips to the restroom to be either before his or well after as he leaves it smelly and unapproachable for a good 1 1/2 hrs after he has been in there. The restroom trip have nothing to do with the smell of crap, its the general odor he gives off coupled with the fact its in a small, confined space...fucking gross.

What makes matters worse is the fact he has small dick syndrome (we know him outside of work and his girlfriend confided this fact to mine). He is very off-putting and hates anything but what he deems "cool". Its one thing to be smelly and clueless, its another to be a complete and utter asshole on top of it. Ugh.. What the fuck is wrong with people.

OMG me too. This dude I work with smells like day old roasted onions. It's so nasty!

I worked with a smelly guy once. the rest of the engineers and I let him know what was going on by all going into his office and spraying air freshener...at the same time... 15 of us... he got the message.
