Well both have their place on the road...its an interesting story.

I personally prefer FWD because of the understeering; don't why...I like feel but then again I am a twisted person.

	I do like RWD a bit better, but both certainly have their place on the road and both can be fun. It's funny too... Just this past Sunday I was talking to my future father-in-law (big car guy) about how disappointing it is that there are so few RWD platforms and he agrees. Then he pointed out something interesting. It's not necessarily because of the cost of the parts... yeah FWD is a little cheaper and yeah it makes everything in one nice little package in the front. Really, it's because everybody went "WHOA FWD! THIS IS THE FUTURE!" and jumped on the bandwagon, abandoning almost every RWD platform. Now they aren't set up to build RWD, and that is where the real cost comes in.

	FWD will always give a bit to RWD in the handling/power department mostly because you are asking the front of the car to do TOO much. Handling traction, steering and weight, the front end of an FWD car has it's plate full. There are some cars out there that have compensated nicely for that; my Cobalt is one, Honda Civic/RSX is another, Nissan SE-R... but the article was spot on about how a RWD will always have an edge. Also, with the advent of much more accessible technology, RWD is not the pain in the ass it used to be in inclement weather.
