i got it and i must say ITS FREAKING AWESOME! i got a 3 mode direct drive smo reflector top bin sst-50 version and am running it in one of FM's 26650 hosts, so i got about 800 OTF lumens and an hour runtime on high(dims a bit over the time but not really noticeable) it throws about as well as your standard cree r2 with OP reflector but smooth reflectored r2's out throw out by a little bit, the fact that you can see such a larger area almost makes it seem like you can se better at distance though.

as with most hobby grade light nowen days it just about completely useless for UE WAY the hell to bright. but its great for the bike ride over though

same here, i have a L2 with R2 xr-e on my bars and in L2 with a xp-g R5 drop-in on my head, i have not gotten my battery shipment yet so i only have one 26650 battery at the moment, and most of my rides are 2 hour pulse this time of year so one just dose not cut it, but i have played with it on the bike and the beam patten is as close to perfect as can be, i had it on my bars and my xr-e R2 on my head, and i was bliss on a bike, i have only played with it on my road bike but i can't wait to bomb down some descents on my mountain bike with it.

Got my cases today. Very nice. I am impressed with the quality of the plastic & the fit. They are one piece molded so eventually the hing will wear & break. They are NOT water proof as there is no Oring. The clip is strong & withstood a chest high drop onto concrete with batteries in it. Had to test it. Two slide together to form one unit(still separate compartments) for easy storage or location in ur pack. I use AA & AAA so I dont have any CR123 to test for fit. The rechargeable AA fit nice & snug with no rattle. The standard AA rattle a bit, but not enough to hear when in ur pack. The AAA rattle like hell. Since I use 3 at a time, & it holds 6. I wrapped 3 with a bit of cling wrap before dropping in the case. This solved the rattle problem & lets me snatch what I need out of the case easy.

If you are using this for AA I give it a 10/10

If for AAA i give it a 8/10

If for CR123- You will have to do ur own review.

I picked up an incandescent dropin to suit my Solarforce L2s, and I'm glad I did. The beam is in quite different, and obviously it's much more orange, too. Gets hot very quickly, though!

No shots with it yet...

Who'd have thought I'd actually enjoy having an incan again after all the LEDs?! Of course, the moment the bulb blows, I'll be swearing at it.

I just got a drop-in LED deal for my 4D cell Maglite.

I think its actually pretty niffty. It was only like $8.

Still waiting for the Fenix headband 2light/1light&1batterypack rig to show up.
Cant wait to try it out.

Rode my bike home late from work, and it was dark. The only light I had on me was my new keychain light, so I held that in my mouth for 16km.

Does anyone know anything about the TK30 I've been looking at it for awhile now and can't make up my mind between it and the TK40. I already have a pile of lights that run on CR123 so I'm not huge on the idea of something that runs on AA and the output appears the same. They only thing I don't get is in the description it doesn't show the 630 lm high output available with cr123 I'm thinking that it would be with 4 cells but maybe not with 2 cells and their wording is just confusing. Any input?

What drop in did you get? I've got a terralux that is great but it was a more expensive 3 emitter design. Although they have a single emitter version thats much cheaper, and still very good.

I don't see why you'd really bother with the TK40 unless you wanted to stick with AA batteries, really. If you're already using CR123s or 18650s, I'd be going for the TK30 instead.

That said, the TK40 is pretty damn cool. I know Jondoe from sub-urban.com uses one in the UK drains and loves it.

Yeah I've seen his pictures before they're good. From everything I've seen the head on the TK30 looks identical to the one on the TK40 I think the bodies and UI might be slightly different.

Stupid cheapie thrower died spontaneously in a drain yesterday, forcing me to change my shooting plans entirely. Why did I ever bother with cheap torches?!

Guess I'll have to get one of those new Olight Intimidators, huh...

Well I got my Fenix headband system.

Except, the clamp assemblies are too small to fit the barrel of my hand lights.

So.. I'm going to modify them =) (the clamps, not the lights)
