The cree XM-L will kick butt,it should replace the mc-e and stt50 nicely, it will basically be a mc-e without the hole in the hot spot and bumped up a few bin's using cree's best die's. And also there is no "if" just when, cree always delivers. but that has nothing to do with throw, HID's are where its at, pick up a Stanly hid at walmart for 70 bucks and you will be good to go.

It's a good light. CandlePowerForums post. Something like 1300 lumens, unfortunately it's at 6000K CCT, so it's rather pale/corpseriffic. Very throwy, you'll want a diffuser for most stuff. It runs for around a half hour, but Wal Mart tends to keep them on the shelves so long that the lead-acid battery goes bad.

That looks pretty cheap for a 5xQ5 thing with two batteries and a charger! Well, the batteries are undoubtedly cheapie unprotected ones, but still...

Off on a photo holiday in just under three weeks, and I'm low on 18650s! I ordered some more, let's hope they arrive in time...

Man, Kowloon, Hong Kong is a light afficionado's dream! I had a play with a bunch of different models, including the huge and expensive JetBeam RRT3, and the even huger and more expensive Olight SR-90. It was kinda strange seeing all these things just sitting there on shelves and hanging on racks. Not only that, but 18650, 16430, and even more obscurely-sized batteries there for the purchasing! All the cheap DX lights were there, of course, in abundance, especially Spiderfire and Romisen. Solarforce was well-supported, too.

My Solarforce Masterpiece is still dead, despite the replacement switch that arrived the day I left, so I was actually shopping, not just looking. I now have a Fenix TK30

Sadly, I didn't see Sunwayled represented

Not too surprised, sounds like they're just starting to get stuff out in quantity. Their first shipment arrived at batteryjunction in the US earlier this week.

Good luck with the TK30, seems like a nice light.

My Quark sat in about 4 feet of water for 20 minutes. A bit of water got in and I didn't check it for the week. Now I'll be exploring for the next week

Fortunately, one can turn the clicky into a twisty until you have time do warranty-return it.

Lesson learned: Check your clickies after long deep baths.

Aww, that sucks, Apple!

I'm just back from 'sploring a disused railway tunnel under London docks with my fancy-shmancy TK30

Maybe it's taking your example and running with it?

Oooh, burn!

So, it turned out that the ring that retains the clip was loose, and preventing the tailcap screwing on all the way. But yeah, it's working! Woohoo!

My replacement Solarforce Masterpiece arrived by courier today, after a couple of weeks waiting. Hooray! So, now I have two big 18650-powered MC-E lights, since I bought the TK30 while I was away

I ordered a Quark with a warm (not just neutral) emitter last Friday night. I love the current Australian-US exchange rate <3
