Self-Illuminated unit with a wide range of uses, the Betalight Torch is compact, robust, has an in-service life of over 10 years, and can illuminate an area of approximately 7"x 7" without affecting night vision.
NO BATTERIES EVER: The Torch needs no power supply of any sort. Illumination is provided by the Betalight® - a borosilicate glass capsule, internally phosphor-coated, and filled with tritium gas, which activates the phosphor to emit light.
LONG LIFE: The Torch has an in service life of 10 years with no need for any maintenance and is designed to survive the harshest climate. It conforms to MoD Defence Standard 62-4.
ROBUST and EASY TO USE: With a ring and cord for easy carrying and handling, the Torch has a tough black rubber housing.
SECURE: Recessed light source reduces the chance of enemy detection, and a hinged front cover can further shield the light source for maximum security.
How bright are these units? About as bright as the glow from an Indiglow watch. With dark adapted eyes you can easily read maps, documents or instruments.
