Listening to Beautiful Loser right now. General thoughts on Bob Seger? I like him, he reminds me of working on cars.

I LOVE Bob Seger. Many of his songs remind me of my Dad and my brother. I remember taking the '9 Tonight' cassette with me when I went to visit them in BC,I was thirteen. My brother's gone now so they make me a little sad,but good tunes nonetheless.

Main Street is one of his best I'd say, though it's hard to pick a favourite. What do you think of Metallica's cover of Turn The Page?

Strut - Best of the Seger. On of the best dirty rock songs of all time.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

I think it's Ok, but it could've been done better by someone else, I don't really know who but it's a little disappointing.

I count the Live Bullet version of Beautiful Loser/Traveling Man among my favorite live performance ever. Love it. We go up to Michigan every summer and Bob Seger has a house in this village we visit. I have yet to see him, when I do, a big thanks to him.

I don't mind the Metallica version, but perhaps only because they were cool enough to cover a Bob Seger song.

Playing Fire Lake right now.

*side note/useless factoid
My daughter dated a kid named Seger, his Mom's a fan. He had bonus cool points off the bat.

That is pretty cool.

I went to Grooveshark.com today and searched, it was like a greatest hits collection. Pretty awesome. Roll Me Away=my personal motorcycle fantasy.

Wow i was actually listening to Hollywood Nights while i noticed this thread.

Favorite Bob Seger/SBB song has to be Night Moves. Definitely.

He's just a great musician and i'm glad he's got a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

I hear he might be doing a tour in 2010? If true, this is great news!

I've never seen him live, but I would love to. Along w/the first songs I mentioned, Main Street is amazing, and Hollywood Nights is great, too.

there are a couple of songs that must be played at least once a week from Bob Seger.
In no particular order:

Still The Same
Night Moves
Roll Me Away
Hollywood Nights (or You'll Accompany Me depending on my mood)

Worst album covers ever.

gives new credence to the old axiom that you can't judge a book by its cover... in this case, album by it's cover.

True, but Classic Rock Radio has ruined Bob Seger for me. Now that I think of it, Classic Rock Radio has ruined just about everything for me.

in my Cobalt, I listen to XM exclusively.
in my Beretta, the antenna lead isn't even hooked to the radio.
at work, I listen to my CDs exclusively.

I like Bob, I have a few of his songs. My most fav is Old time rock & roll, seeing how the Older classics like Bon Jovi, R.E.M. and such are fading with all the new junk out there.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I love Bob Seger. Not sure what I like most about his music but his piano hooks are amazing. One of my favorites is Against the Wind; that one line 'wish I knew now, what I didn't know then' always gets me whenever I listen to it.

Useless factoid #9000;

Bob Seger has said that he always had an issue with that line in the song, but was glad that he left it in.
