I live in MA. Here, a man can collect alimony if the wife makes a significant amount more than the husband does.

Also, the judges here don't want to hear about infidelity. They say its way too wide spread, not enough proof, and too much denying which ends up wasting too much of the courts time. So instead we file either "cruel or abusive" or "irretrievable breakdown".

well it happend. he went looking for her on her "girls night out"... yep at a bar with a guy. im $20 richer now...

Hearing about happy marriages between random people is one thing. Growing up SEEING epic failures is another.

I have seen some amazingly dysfunctional relationships sustain themselves inside and outside of marriages.

It is really hard to tell who will make it and who won't.

ever seen two people that you KNOW are not gonna make it?

Almost every single couple on UER, especially those that got engaged.

People fresh out of high school or college that feel that they need to spend the rest of their lives together with that special someone they found. I'm going to make a prediction that in 5 years, most will back browsing the market, so to speak.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but these days it's not like the 70's or 80's when couples always tried to make due and work together to get over issues they face in their relationship and make it stronger. In the instant satisfaction world it seems easier to visit the lawyer and get the papers if he is a jerk or she is a control-freak.

k, so "h" im's me on facebook today askin to "hang out or get some drinks... i text zipper to tell her to "hack" my facebook to "watch" this whole thing go down. i am %1000 up front with zipper knows that so she just watched this go down... zipper told me i should tell the guy who wants to marry "h" so i kinda did... i have the entire chat log on my computer in a word file.

h: im bored, home all alone till 5. wanna go get some drinks or something?
me: what did you have in mind?
h: we can go to murphys
me: why not the hanger?
h: i dont want anyone we know to see us together?

h: i dont want the gossip.

(i text zipper- telling her to hack my fb)

at that point it gets to be too much to handle for me, so i ask zipper what the protocall is, as "h" has already been caught out with another guy. zipper tells me to text her soon to be husband.
he calls me around 5 and i tell him very nicely what went down and that i think it was innapropriat for "h" to want to hang out with me as i am in a commited relationship with zipper.

I don't want anyone who knows us both to gossip?
