Here's one I improvised off of from fatfree.com (note: I almost never use a recipe exactly the way it suggests )

1 - Soak 1c. chick peas overnight, then drain.
2 - Cook in 5 c. veg. broth with 1 bay leaf til soft. (about 2.5 hours)
3 - Drain beans, reserving liquid.
4 - Puree beans in food processor with 1/4 c. lemon juice
5 - Add grated zest of 1 lemon, 6 roasted cloves of garlic, 1
fresh minced garlic clove, *** 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp ground coriander,
1/8 tsp cayenne, 1/2 tsp black pepper.*** At very end, mix in *** 1/2 c. ***
of minced parsley.

My changes: 1 cup of chick peas makes a LOT of hummus. I used half a cup. Instead of 5 cups of veg broth, I used 2-3. I didn't have a bay leaf either. You can use a bit less lemon juice too. I just used the juice from one whole lemon. Instead of 6 roasted cloves and one fresh minced clove, I used 4 fresh minced cloves which I fried briefly with a bit of butter. I didn't add cumin/coriander/cayenne. I also used 1/4 cup of parsley instead of a half cup.

All in all, it came out AWESOME. My bf claims it's the best he's ever had
