	Does that include man boobs? If it does, then I can participate! Seriously, I don't understand why guys like that cleric aren't laughed out of the country. I saw a video on YouTube of some clerics (they might not all have been clerics) in Iraq actually seriously debating whether the earth was flat. The real tragedy is that the culture that gave us a lot of advanced math (the concept of zero, base-10 math, etc.) and other science has degenerated this far.

	Not that western civilization is innocent in this tragedy. A big reason so many people in that part of the world turn to these nutjobs is because the British, Russians, and now Americans have been shitting on their countries for about 200 years, now. I agree with what you said, but I don't think their rejection of the most basic astronomy (that can be viewed while flying in an airplane) is a result of them not feeling in control. I think their loss of control might be why they turn to clerics for leadership in the first place, but the rejection of basic science in a public forum is... mind-boggling. Those things wouldn't merit even a picosecond of debate in the west, or east, or anywhere else.
