the only real reason these cars are considered attractive, if we're honest with ourselves, is because of the retarded amounts of money they represent. they're essentially impossible to keep running and working without frequent but unpredictable massive expense.

i remember reading somewhere (maybe Car & Driver) that exotic pilots/owners are on a first name basis with their mechanics because they are in the shop so much.

Ya know I always said if I hit the lottery, I would buy a lot of cars, but none of the "exotics" ever enticed me. A couple of nicely done TJ's couple of nice XJ's. Maybe a really sweet Fox body Mustang. New Camaro would be pretty sweet. Maybe a first gen Taurus SHO (NOT pronounced that way btw) another Mazda MX-3 (loved that car) and some older iron. But as far as exotics? Maybe a BMW M5. But that's about it. Why no exotics? Because I love to drive. I don't like to wait. And while these things are impressive for a day, there simply not worth the $$$$ or aggravation. A GT 40 or Vette Z06 is much much less and honestly, will give you much of the same thrill. With a warranty. And the ability to be driven across country without a pit crew.

the only supercar that actually does a passable job at being a car is the NSX. Plenty still on the road with over 100K on the clock

Lulz... I wonder if it was an SRT or an RT or just a lowly 6-cyl. Worst part about the Charger is that people think the v6 is every bit as good as the v8's and drive it like an idiot.

Interesting, though, because typically these events are regulated enough that they won't let cars break 100mph/170kph without a 4 or 5 point race harness, or they are removed from the event. One Lap is pretty strict about this... Allpar's Charger SRT8 wasn't allowed to go over 110 (109mph was "legal" by committee rules) last year because their special seatbelts didn't arrive in time.

Me goin' legit would be like JarJar on speech therapy.

Was Tony Hawk in his SRT8 Jeep again this year or did he bring something else different?
