| | | Posted by gambino Have you done anything to your car? in the way of modifications?
| No mods yet... usually do my city driving with TC and OD off. Click them both on on the highway. It's bone stock and it's fucking glorious. Oh, and I named it Sex Panther. An homage to Anchorman and the Panther platform. I kind of want to get a giant panther decal for the hood or something. I'm still trying to find the right thing to do with it. Next oil change I will likely do myself, probably Castrol Syntec (I've had great luck with Castrol, haven't tried their synth yet)... toss in a K&N Replacement, maybe change the plugs and wires soon. Little things to start. I would LOVE to do dual exhaust, but that's a bit more than I have to spend immediately, and I'm not sure if there are any other adjustments I'd need to do for backpressure, etc. Time will tell. I'm also saving pennies to buy myself a decent jack, a 10gal (ish) compressor, and some tools. Someday. In the meantime, working with my father-in-law is always a blast. He likes cars too.

| | | I like to keep an eye on the oil color. It all depends on whether it sits a lot, or get driven a lot, gets up to running temp. Like any car I guess. Water can collect in the oil, if she sits a lot. That goes for any car though. I do it about every 5000 km, sometimes less. I look at the color. Not sure if you have an oil cooler or not. Takes awhile for the oil to settle after an oil change, so best to put in, start it up, let it settle a little, and check the level. Don't like to over fill, and get bubbles. I think you can order off the motorcraft website, if there is no dealer near you. Or stock up on a few if you pass by a dealer. You can find a write up on adding the dual exhaust over at crownvic.net, using a scavenged interceptor exhaust. Also using a k&n I wouldn't myself, some like it some don't. I just worry about over oiling it, and fowling up the maf. The stock airbox flows very well also. Good idea to spray the maf with some non residue electrical cleaner. Car should run better. Not sure if you were planning on putting a cone filter, or just replace the paper with k&n.
